Description: Big Trouble is an intimate and casual restaurant serving modern cuisine inspired by BC. We are located in Vancouver's historic Chinatown just off Main Street by the Georgia Street Viaduct. We serve 'family-style', so sharing works best as each dish will arrive when ready and will be introduced in the middle of the table. Try a little or a lot. It'll always be fresh and made with care. No take-out, brunch or lunch just yet. Probably ne'er, as we're tiny. Our menu reflects the seasons, what's fresh, what's locally available as well as our passion and technique. We jump around a lot. Whether it's classic French, Pacific Rim, Mediterranean or otherwise, we love being inspired! We make the choices for our ingredients carefully and take the time to high-five our distributors, farmers and wine-makers. We keep a keen eye toward organic, bio-dynamic and sustainably farmed juice. Along with some amazing BC producers, we also stock new and old world wineries that demonstrate our values. We believe wine should be ready to drink, varietally correct and worth the investment. Most of all, it needs to be made with care. There's always a few rarities in stock. Please ask us as we'd love to expound. Local craft beer from 33 Acres and Four Winds along with Lonetree Cider are always on hand. The cocktail program features solid classics and strange ideas. What's your favourite? We love requests! We also stock a well thought out shelf of premium spirits, each with a good story and a better drink. Did you know Steve Da Cruz is credited with putting the Vancouver Cocktail on the map? Ask for the story, its good. Perhaps ironically, Big Trouble generates less than one pound of waste per month. We have one of the most comprehensively rigorous and complete recycling and sustainability programs in the industry. From compost, soft plastic and used metal collection to coconut fibre tissue and paper towels and biodegradable soaps and cleaners, we endeavour to cause as little trouble as possible for future generations.

“Gourmet vegetarian!”

Fabulous, cozy little place with maybe 20 seats....inventive, creative, reasonably priced food (except for the wines by the bottle, which were very pricey). But the dishes we had were fantastic, full of flavor & very creative. Our waiter fully explained all the ingredients when we ordered, & also when the dish was served. Attractive staff too!

“Good Vegetarian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Went for 7 pm dinner with a reservation on a Friday night. Started with a wine offering (chose a bottle BC white from De Vine for $42). Next came an Amuse bouche while we persued the menu. Ordered the Aubergine salad which was very tasty, then the Summer Fling salad (average) then the Gnocchi and Bi Bim Bap for main plates. Both very tasty. Finished with chocolate and strawberry shortcake desserts. The restaruant offerings are designed for sharing and what we ordered was sufficient. Chef/owner Steve Da Cruz runs a very efficient operation, is a perfect host and provided good service and nicely presented dishes. Expect full linen service and attention to detail at Steve's place. Nice addition to the edge of Chinatown. Open for dinner Tuseday to Saturdays starting at 5 pm. Nice place.

“Best Meal in Vancouver”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Our dinner at The Parker was my favorite meal in Vancouver. I was disappointed in how difficult it seemed to be to find a good vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver until we came across The Parker. The cocktails, the food, the atmosphere, and the service were all impeccable. The have an impressive wine list and offer gluten free and vegan options as well.

“The Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Vancouver”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

This place is bar far the best Vegetarian Restaurant in the city. It is a little bit out of down town but it is worth it. It is in front of a nice park, and it is very classy with a very good wine list. Make sure to try their Chick Pea fries and their Chocolate truffles for dessert they are mouth watering. All their ingredients are also fresh and comes from local farmers.

“Where are the hearty vegetarians?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

"Sustainability is sexy" is the restaurant's bi-line; leaving hungry is not! You can only take style and taste so far. You can have minimalist design, concrete floors and uncomfortable seating but you have got to feed people so they leave satisfied sensing that they have had a meal. We should have known by the opening act an amuse bouche that consisted of 2 peas on a pod, that we were about to embark on a unique small is beautiful experience. We ordered 4 dishes that the waiter opined would be enough for a party of 2. It certainly was not. I could not tell the difference between appetizers and the main course. Let me make it clear that my wife and I are not gourmands. We have rarely conquered a full course meal and find the American portions obscene. However, the Parker reinforces the general prejudice of carnivores that vegetarians really do not like to eat.
