“First visit worthwhile!”
Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

Always trying to find new places for my vegan wife. Interesting drink options, very flavorful and refreshing, with or without alcohol. My wife enjoyed the pad Thai, while I was satisfied with my curry. The curry was rather pricey, but excellent quality. Excellent service (Kristen?). Desert was not as advertised, came as apple crumble rather than rhubarb, but still very enjoyable. 49th Parallel coffee was good ending, and kept us wake for the theatre following the meal.

“Veggie food does not have to be boring!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

I went to this restaurant twice in 2 weeks and was not disappointed. Great staff and the food is innovative (who would think of making french fries out of avocados?). I can't actually say we liked the avocado frites much but the platter of dips was wonderful and different each time. The salads are big and bright and the pasta and curry were yummy. As they have gluten free and vegan options readily available it also makes it a good place to eat with friends/families with certain food issues. The only real negative is that as the restaurant filled up, the noise level can get quite high. Best to have your meal and then go elsewhere for a quiet drink or dessert (we found the truffles here are expensive and not as good as the rest of the dishes). Admittedly we were very full when we tried them though!

“Good food, great vegan/vegetarian choices”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

The food is very tasty, some different recipes and choices for non meat eaters. The service was excellent and the ambiance good. I find the prices high however. I was also disappointed that when we were last there with a party of 5 and it was my sons birthday, which the staff were aware of, there was not any recognition of it. We ordered dessert, where normally the birthday person would get a complementary small dessert, we paid for all the desserts and there was not a candle/sparkler or any recognition at all. I was quite surprised and disappointed considering our bill for five was over $200

“Faux (rhymes with no) cuisine at a ridiculous price”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

Just because you embrace a healthy diet or have food sensitivities does not mean you should pay through the nose for healthy sustainable food with no decent preparation or presentation. The prices suggested a chef, not the plain, uninspired food they delivered. Go to "Freshie" for half the price and twice the flavour.

“3 strikes and they're out”
Reviewed May 15, 2013 via mobile

Third attempt here. It could be a nice atmosphere if it wasn't a) so loud and b) so pretentious. Serving staff could use a lesson on customer service. And the menu could use some excitement - it is very small, conventional, and very overpriced. If two of your maybe 8 main options are grilled cheese and Mac and cheese, two of the other are the standby vegetarian options of a veg curry and chili, then that leaves only 4 other options that could be interesting, and you certainly can't be charging $17 for all of these things!
