We were a party of 10 that arrived (sans reservation) for dinner. We ordered 8 unique dishes and were extremely impressed with all of them. Several members of our party are from areas near the himilayas and found the food to be authentic and delicious.
The meat (goat, chicken, and lamb both grilled and in curry) was succulent and cooked to perfection. The daal was by far the best I've ever tasted. Typically, daal served at restaurants is rather bland, but this was rich and had beautifully layered flavors. We sampled each others food and felt that without exception the curries were delicious.
For dessert, we had chai creme brulee and kheer. The creme brulee was fantastic - a very unique spin on traditional creme brulee with excellent spicing. The kheer was excellently balanced between rich and sweet.
Both the chef and wait service were extremely hospitable and friendly. They were helpful in explaining any questions about the menu and made sure that we had enough water/chutney/raita throughout the meal. The food was reasonably priced.
All ten of us agreed that we would return to this restaurant in a heartbeat. If you are in Vancouver, do not miss it!
