“Great Location, Rooms not amazing, but ok.”
Reviewed June 14, 2007

Well after reading all the positive reviews on trip advisor and viewing the times square website and taking the virtual tour of all the suites of the hotel, along with the location right next to Stanley Park, I instantly thought this would be something special.
It was a good experience, but I was expecting much more. The pictures on the website of the rooms are extremely misleading, we were in a large 2 bedroom suite, which in reality was quite small and the roof top patio was again alot smaller than what it looked like in the pictures provided. The rooms were fairly good, tv had alot of channels, staff gave us an ethernet cable and internet connection which was fast and overall the rooms were fairly good, apart from being a little too hot at night. the beds were OK, but i've slept in many better.
The location is outstanding, right next to two of my favourite parts of Vancouver, Coal Harbour and Stanley Park. Very small walk to Stanley Park, great fun walking around this great Urban oasis watching the passing parade, Specatular views everywhere...and very close also to the stunning Harbour front suburb of Coal Harbour with its panoramic views accross the harbour, Stanley Park to the North Shore Mountains.
There were not many decent restaurants close to the Hotel, and there wern't too many cafes, and theywere quite poor compared to those back home in Australia.
Vancouver is an outstandingly beautiful city and I wouldn't hesitate to return, but may end up choosing different accommodation next time...however times square really does have a great location, and the rooms were decent enough to not annoy us, but I did expect a bit better.

We stayed at the Times Square Suites over memorial day weekend with our 2 year old daughter. I booked the room from the hotel's website and requested a room on the back side of the hotel, as we needed it quiet at night to keep the little one asleep. We had read other travelers' reviews that the streetside rooms were noisy. When we checked in, we realized not only were we given a room on the back side of the building, but we were also given a studio with a den for the price of a studio, which was nice.
At check in, the reception was quick and friendly. I asked about a good Indian restraunt, and the gentleman recommended India Bistro, which was FABULOUS! Yummy food. He gave me a map, showed me where it was and also pointed out a few other landmarks. The building was very clean and felt very secure, as you had to use a key to get into the front door, and a key to open the elevator.
We paid for parking, which is a must, as there is no street parking anywhere around. The parking garage was very secure and there's another keyed entry to the foyer with the elevator.
Our room was immaculately clean and was much bigger than we had expected! It had a sleeper sofa, a fireplace, a dining table with four chairs, a tv/dvd combo, microwave, fridge, dishes, dishwasher, coffee pot w/coffee and condiments, electric teapot, iron/board and a full size washer and dryer! There was tons of closet space as well!! We felt like we had our own little flat in Vancouver, it was great! Plus, there was lots of room for our little one to spread out with her toys and gear. There was a nice little den/sunroom off of the living room that had chairs. We also had a powerful AC, which was handy, as it was a pretty warm weekend. The bed was very comfortable and had really nice sheets and a fluffy duvet.
We never heard a sound from anyone else around us, or from outside the entire time we were there. It was very quiet and pleasant.
The location is amazing! It is walking distance to Stanley Park and all of the great things you can do there, plus there are coffee shops, grocery stores and restraunts all around you within a couple of blocks.
Also, as a last note.....they were doing some repairs to the windows on the back side of the building. There was a note on the table in the room informing us of this upon check in. They apologized for any noise or inconvenience ahead of time. However, we didn't hear anything or feel inconvenienced at all. We didn't even notice they were working on anything, really. But, when we got home, we had an email with 20% off for our next stay for the 'inconvenience'! It was very thoughtful and generous, we thought!
We will definitely be staying here again! We loved everything about this little home away from home in Vancouver!

We stayed here for 5 nights in May 2007... All the great reviews already posted here are all accurate.

The location was excellent; walking distance to Stanley Park and great area for runners/walkers. The Running Room store is on the same block if you need supplies. Several great restaurants and coffee shops within a short walking distance, as well as a grocery store across the street.

Service and security were both of the highest standards. When I had trouble locating the main entrance when we arrived, the staff offered to come down from the office and meet me on the street! Our suite had everything we needed. When I booked the room, I requested the most quiet room possible, and we were accomodated with a room in the back. The building was very quiet and the room was very clean.

Only two things I would point out: the elevator is extremely slow at times; and when we checked in, we weren't informed that our suite door didn't automatically lock on its own (so our door was unlocked for the first few days). However these two things were minimal, and didn't lessen the excellent quality and experience.

Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

This is basically a buidling where you can rent serviced apartments by the night.
Our apartment was clean and well equipped. It was basically a studio but the sleeping area was well curtained off. There is a kitchen where you could cook meals if you wanted to. It is in a great location and you can walk to most Central Vancouver attractions in 15 minutes or less from here.

I would much rather stay here than a formal hotel as you have much more freedom and being able to cook could really save you money if that was an issue.

My only minor complaint is that it got a little hot and stuffy but with the window open this was resolved but if you are a light sleeper the street noise may cause a problem.

Stayed for 2 days, service from staff was great and friendly.
Room met our expectactions and very clean and had comfortable furnishings and well equipped.
The only negative comments are noise levels in the early hours bin men empting bins at 8am each day and the rooms needs to have better air con our room was far to warm as the hot water heater was in a cupboard in our room and it was only 17c outside. So in the summer months the room would be far to warm.
In the cooler months the accomadation would be fantastic ,lovely fire in the lounge and heating in the bedrooms.
Yes I would use again!

My partner and I booked the Times Square Suites as a result of reading reviews on this site and we were not disappointed.

The location is excellent for both the downtown and for the fabulous Stanley Park. We had a hire car but didn't use it apart from a trip out to the airport. Everywhere else we went was on foot.

The rates are also extremely reasonable when compared to downtown hotels.

The property itself is very unassuming from the outside and does not have a traditional hotel lobby. Access to the suites is via a lift straight from the street door. Our suite was on the third floor at the back (as we had requested) and was really very nice. It was the type of place that we wouldn't actually mind living in !!

The fully equipped kitchen was a real bonus and the furnishings were all of a high quality. Although the living room looked out over a parking lot there were also views of the mountains in the distance.

If there is one slight criticism it is that the desk staff could have been slightly more forward in giving information on things such as how your key operates the lift and how to access the car park.

Having said that this is a very minor gripe and we would certainly consider staying here again when next in Vancouver.

We stayed at Times Sqaure about three different times over the course of our holiday to Canada, and I must say on each occasion we were very impressed with the place. The rooms are very large , tastefully furnished, amazingly well equipped and spotlessly clean - we thought it brilliant value for money! We also found that the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Vancouver. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone!
