We visited Vancouver in May, 2012, and enjoyed our stay at the Time Square Suites Hotel, which is a small, three-story apartment-style hotel in the heart of Vancouver. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite that was very roomy with a full kitchen and small balcony, although there is not much of a view. Our room was reaonably priced, particularly for the size of the suite, and in very good condition. There is a full-service grocery store and liquor store on the next block. The hotel has a roof-top patio which looked lovely, but we did not use it.

The best thing about Times Square Suites is its location. It is one block from Stanley Park, which is one of the must-see attractions in Vancouver. There is a bike shop literally across the street with a very short, easy bike ride into the park. The hotel is also only about two blocks from the water which has a very nice walking/biking trail. It's an easy bike ride from the hotel, around Stanley Park, and over to the Granville Farmer's Market. Instead of crossing the bridge on our bikes, we opted to take the little blue taxi boat across the water to the Farmer's Market. You can catch the taxi boats at the foot of Granville Bridge. But I digress...

The negatives about the hotel was the lack of amenities. It is a very small, city hotel, so there is no pool or fitness center, although there is access to an off-site fitness center. The hotel is a litte hard to find and to get to the parking garage, you have to locate the alley that runs behind the hotel for the entrance to the parking garage. The check-in office is in the basement/parking garage. The hotel does not have a lobby or foyer, and they are not set up to handle a large number of guests arriving at once. There is one small elevator from the check-in to the rooms upstairs. When we arrived, there was no one else checking in and our check-in went smoothly, but a fairly large group arrived as we were finishing the check-in process and we were all crowded into a very small space with several people vying for the elevator.

However, the advantages of the hotel, particularly price and location, vastly outweigh the inconveniences of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Vancouver.

The small and dowdy office tucked away off of the parking lot and sloping hallway give a false impression of the suites. Our suite was tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Two separate bedrooms with open plan living in the middle was perfect for our family of four. It was nice to have some space to enjoy while our two young children were safely asleep in their own room. Full kitchen and laundry facilities would make a long stay very pleasant. Staff were very friendly, super helpful and made sure we enjoyed our stay. The location is great with Stanley Park, English Bay, grocery stores and many eateries nearby. A short walk up Robson St takes you to a well tenanted shopping district. Wished we could have stayed longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Times Square Suites. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were very large and extremely comfortable. I wish I could find a room like this everywhere I travel. Great location, near Stanley Park and an easy walk to the water. Thanks for a great experience!

Times Square Suites is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are clean and spacious, with laundry facilities right in the suite. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The roof-top patio is comfortable and convenient - we had a family barbeque up there one evening and they supply all the things you need except the food. The only thing wrong with the place is that the elevator is small and in constant use. Other than that it was perfect.

This conveniently located hotel is close the heart of Vancouver. Our apartment was an immaculate one bedroom with full kitchen, dining area and comfortable living room. The staff are attentive, informative and gracious in their commitment to the guests. The secured underground parking provides another level of safety. The district around the hotel is a United Nations of dining establishments such as east African, Ukranian, Asian and points in between. Notable attractions such as Stanley Park and the downtown core are just minutes away. Certainly a hotel we will use again.
