Bring your steno pad and pencil with you because as an undercover newspaper reporter you’ll need them to help uncover the secrets and expose the scandals of Vancouver in the early 1900s.

Our first night in town my husband and I participated in the Prohibition City walking tour. Our tour guide and fellow reporter was quite energetic, knowledgeable and able to go with the flow when my husband would try and get him off script. I’ve been on my share of walking tours and can honestly say that this one is quite good. Not only was this an entertaining way of learning the layout of the city and the ‘hidden’ history surrounding it but it’s also a good stretch of the legs.

Highly recommend this tour to any one visiting the area or locals looking for some more information on their city.

We took the Forbidden Vancouver Halloween walking tour and really couldn't have had any more fun! Our guide, Will, introduced himself to everyone in the group individually before we began, plus he had candy, so we were already sold. He was fun, polite, and definitely built up a great vibe in the group.

The tour itself was absolutely fascinating, filling out my somewhat vague historical knowledge with juicy details, and spine-tingling stories. Will stayed in character for the whole tour, and had everyone's rapt attention throughout. We visited places I've walked by a hundred times and never noticed, and went down dark alleys I definitely wouldn't have been through on my own - that on its own was more than worth the money! The tour was a gentle walk which ended in Gastown, just as the light drizzle started picking up (it's like he planned it!) so we were in prime position to continue our Hallowe'en evening - although we were both so impressed we ended up walking in silence for a while, just absorbing all the information, and letting the goosebumps settle down!

I highly, highly recommend this tour, and can't wait to go on one of the other ones!

We did the Prohibition City tour and it was an incredible way to see the city and hear of its fascinating history. The tour is particularly engaging and makes for a very entertaining walk through downtown Vancouver. The walk itself is not strenuous and a great way to see parts of the city we probably wouldn't have known about had we not done the tour. Well worth its #1 ranking on TripAdvisor.

We took two of the Forbidden Vancouver tours this year. The first was the "liquor and lust extravaganza" (not the actual title) led by Aaron Chapman and the second was "Lost Souls of Gastown", led by Will in a fantastically researched and enchantingly interpreted character. Both tours were outstanding! We're both big fans of walking tours, having taken many of them in the UK and US, and the offerings of Forbidden Vancouver are world-class. The tours fascinate their audience with a tremendous balance of information and entertainment. Each tour takes the visitors (a perfectly-sized group, no one feels left out) or resident through parts of the city guaranteed to give them great insight along with a giggle or even a gasp. Forbidden Vancouver is a fantastic addition to the city's tourism landscape.
