This is a great spot to go before of after a movie. The staff is very respectful of movie-times and make sure you're not waiting for the bill too long. The beet salad was excellent and it was a toss up about which pizza to have - but it was excellent - artichoke, red pepper, onion and other great toppings.

We were served by the restaurant owner and had a wonderful experience. Very friendly service and delicious food. We had mushroom pizza which had a perfect dash of chives on it - unique and so tasty! We also tried the creme brulee which was fantastic. Overall, a wonderful experience and meal!

A group of 5 stopped by for dinner around 730pm. We were mostly ignored for the first 10 minutes even though the restaurant was almost empty! We were then seated in a back corner area behind the bar as they said this was the only area they could accommodate a group even though we would have loved a window area to watch the world go by. The service was slow and for the most part uncaring. Our waiter Scott was more interested in chatting with the group of guys seated a few tables away. The food however was good. We had corn soup, 3 different pizza's and the meatball appetizer. I found it a bit expensive, but flavours and ingredients were good. When it was time for the bill, the handheld debit machine wan't working properly and after 6 tries we were still waiting. Our waiter disappeared for another 20 minutes and said he had gone to try to fix the internet?? Seriously? Was this our problem and to disappear without an explanation was insulting as we were left wondering what we should do. We asked another server to find him for us and she too was uncaring and a bit rude as if it was our fault. We finally paid our bill and were able to leave, No sorry, No can we get you a coffee, no please come again and have an appie on us.....NO Caring or personalization! For me, the Novo is a NO-GO. There are plenty of restaurants in Vancouver and on Commercial drive that sell Italian fare. I think it is time for management to take a look thru the hidden camera and bring this restaurant up to what it should be...

Nice atmosphere, good pizza service wasnt anything great. I was especially annoyed that I had to ask for a drink??? Very very quick with the food, this was a plus for sure. If I was in the area I would go back but wouldnt drive there specifically.

We went for a later-than-usual dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food -- home made thin-crust pizza (roasted red peppers, mushrooms, carmelized onions, goat cheese), home-made pasta (gnocchi with cashew & basil pesto -- yummy!), and salad all to share. Service was excellent -- waiter was very attentive (might have been the owner?)
