Description: Our little restaurant is located in the heart of Commercial Drive. A casual and inviting space, run by a close-knit team and a tiny-but-mighty kitchen. Best known for our artful plating, creative use of local ingredients, delicious fresh sushi, and modern twists on Japanese classics. The real magic can be found in award winning Chef Kishimoto's unique seasonal offerings. Fresh, quality ingredients come to us from local farms, foragers and producers, such as wild greens and mushrooms, kelp, organic vegetables, free range eggs, natural poultry and meat, sustainable seafood, and more. We feature a small selection of BC wines and craft sake, alongside imported sake. Premium rice, wagyu and fresh seafood are hand selected and flown to us from Japan throughout the week. Reservations recommended, walk-in welcome.

Located away from the main tourist part of town, this sushi restaurant has very fresh and high quality sushi. My wife and I tried several rolls as well as some of their ice cream and everything was great. Service was quick.

Both the food and the presentation are excellent! Even the yam tempura rolls are amazing, which you would think would be good anywhere but I've had some bad yam tempura rolls. This is a great option to even take people who don't eat seafood. They have some great non-seafood rolls. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long, but it's worth it. Try going right when they open.

In Vancouver you have plenty to choose from for sushi restaurants. I've been to many, some good some not so good, and some that you leave saying, that was really good. This place was really good with a wow in front of it. Toro tatami (seared tuna belly), salmon oshisushi (pressed sushi roll), and unagi ishirabe (eel, rice, seaweed mixed in a hot stone pot) were the items i devoured.
Rock star parking is tough to get, which i scored (it's all in the timing my friends). This place has won a few rewards for one of the best Japanese restaurants in Vancouver as well. The critics don't get them all right, but this one is. Give it a shot, it's worth a wait.

Sushi art, super tasty, very creative.
Seating can be kind of uncomfortable and there might be a line for dinner!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here, although felt confined by the space and growing line of diners. Good: service; Better: presentation of all of the food; Best: delicious oshi sushi. Lots of innovative dishes and lovely presentation. $100 for dinner for 3 including a beer each.
