Cinch switched from being a cafe to a "grill" a couple years ago. The cafe was a great spot and now the "grill" is outstanding! The atmosphere is friendly and has become a great local hangout for those living in the neighbourhood. All of the appetizers are delicious it is so hard to decide what to have...so you just need to keep going back! The Battered Tiger Prawns and Chipotle Mayo, the Beef Carpaccio, Chicken livers, Calamari, and the Seared Scallops and Crab Cakes stand out, but it is all great. For entrees, any of the fish dinner specials are very creative and done so perfectly. The Cinch Spaghetti done with roasted chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and an herb truffle cream sauce is addictive and the Seafood Risotto is a hard one to resist.
The Rack of Lamb with Moroccan Couscous and pomegranate jus is inspired and the Slow-Braised Beef Short-ribs are a succulent masterpiece smothered in a heavenly mushroom sauce. The pizzas are also quite fine with a thin crust. The Tomato Bocconcini pizza is simply delish. There's take-out too!
This place is really just a magnificent find... great value at a modest price for Vancouver. In summer time the patio is the perfect place to unwind and take in Robson Street. The owner Moe and his staff do a great job making everyone feel comfortable. Just go. You won't regret it! I have been to Cinch often and it has been my Vancouver personal favourite for years.
