We took an evening dinner cruise in August around the Vancouver harbour and adjacent waters for about 2 1/2 hours. It was a lovely warm evening and we looked forward to a nice dinner and a cruise into the sunset. However, once out of the protected waters of the harbour, we hit swells which had us rocking and rolling and, in some cases, thinking twice about eating anything. Now, the food was great and the crew did what they could to minimize the rolling of the ship. we finally changed course and after crossing over to the UBC headlands, made a slow trip back to Granville Island. At last, the seas calmed down and the rest of the trip was fantastic. The sunset was just amazing and overall, we had a wonderful trip. I didn't find the rough water a problem and enjoyed a great meal of salmon, chicken, pasta, veggies and salad. We had plenty to eat, although some people did skip the meal.
