“Fabulous Hotel in my Hometown”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

Stayed at the Opus for our 15th year anniversary. Loved the room - it was just what I was hoping for. Deep tub, modern and sleek design, super clean and fresh. The view wasn't that great, but I didn't request a specific view and we loved the floor to ceiling windows.
Over-all it was a nice stay. The king-sized bed with down pillows was super comfy and couldn't be better. The complementary ipad was a nice touch.
The only criticism I would have was the food - the room service menu was very limited and extremely expensive. $26 for eggs, bacon and toast? Really? And for a late night or before dinner snack they really didn't have that many options. We had a cheese board that was around $30 tax and tip all in. I'd love to see and bed and breakfast package in the future.
But the staff were very genuine and friendly, and they gave us two bottles of sparkling wine on the house for our occasion. We'll definitely be back next year. Thanks Opus!

I booked into Opus Hotel for a business trip having never stayed there before. Upon arrival I had been upgraded to a suite complete with a two-sided glass fireplace separating the bedroom from the living room. The room was lovely, cozy and very comfortable. It rained the entire time I was there so every time I entered my room I clicked on the fire and felt right at home.

The neighborhood (Yaletown) is great - a yoga studio right around the corner, a wonderful coffee shop connected to the hotel and the Flying Pig a few doors down with the best brussels sprouts I have ever eaten.

Staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I don't recall my room number...I think it was 704. Ask for a suite with a fireplace.

A Sat night stay. Friendly and prompt staff, clean quiet room with modem great design and unique layout. Room service breakfast was fast (20 min) and tasty.

Not cheap: room, parking, or room service. But worth it for a special occasion or if cash isn't an issue.

An excellent boutique hotel at a reasonable price. Good central location near shopping, good restaurants in Yaletown. Canada Line train stop across the street. Free bicycle rentals, great on-site restaurant, friendly staff, clean rooms and great service.

We stayed at the Opus in September while visiting friends. The hotel is well-cared for, has fabulous rooms--quite spacious for a boutique hotel, and is perfectly situated in Yaletown. We especially loved the unexpected perk of having a wifi enabled iPad to carry with us around the city. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. The front desk could be a little friendlier, but overall they were courteous and professional.

Dear Jenny S

Thank you very much for choosing to stay with OPUS, and for then taking the time to send in your comments. Since introducing the iPads in all of our guests rooms back in March, they have continued to gain in popularity, as you mentioned. We were happy to read how impressed you were with our guest rooms but wanted to apologize for the less than friendly experience you encountered at the front desk. Our focus is to consistently provide a high level of professionalized service, but always with warmth and care. Hopefully we will get another opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel, and to allow us to provide you with an even more memorable experience! Thank you again for choosing to stay with OPUS and for sending in your feedback.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Gandossi

My husband and I stayed at the Opus over the past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The staff was extremely kind and helpful...the room was very clean and the mattress was ubercomfy. We consider ourselves big time foodies and have nothing but raves about the restaurant (best wine service in Vancouver EVER). We have usually stayed at the Fairmont Pacific Rim when downtown but because of this great stay and excellent location we will make the Opus our pied a terre. Thanks for a great stay...even if our team lost...
