The hotel is in a very good downtown location, many bus stops nearby as well as the Metro stations, Pacific centre shopping mall, and countless restaurants, bars, clubs, convenience stores.

I had two double beds in my room, with a choice of soft and firms pillows on each bed. This didnt leave a lot of room to walk but I didnt find this to be too much of a problem. As well as the coffee machine there was a clock radio which had an ipod dock so I was able to play music from my ipod. There is a safe in the room and the wifi was fast and free.

Outside street noise wasnt a problem for me, my room was facing Nelson St. The only noise was from the people waiting for the elevator as the elevator was director opposite my room 511. The hotel buffet breakfast is in the connecting Irish pub, which was very good. There is a choice of scrambled eggs, Bacon, Hash browns, Toast, Cereal, Fresh Fruit, Yogurt, Granola, Scones, Muffins, Coffee, Tea, Milk, Juice and the special of the week which was pancakes, and Waffles on the day I left.

Opposite the hotel is Tim Horton coffee shop which also has Cold Stone Creamery. If you love ice cream you will love this place. This was the only Cold Stone Creamery I have seen during my travels across Canada.

They have a luggage room next to reception so I was able to leave my luggage with them. The staff was extremely polite and helpful throughout, when I checked out I did get charged for extra breakfasts. I only noticed this when I got the bill by email but they corrected this when I returned to collect my luggage.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at this refurbished hotel. I remember in the 1980's that the area around Granville and Nelson Streets was not a pleasant to be especially after dark. The area is better now although busy and noisy at night and even a little sketchy. However the hotel is a solid three star and despite an extremely small elevator (there is only one) and smallish rooms I still enjoyed my three night stay. The hotel's best asset are it's staff, friendly and helpful and professional. If you need a budget hotel in downtown Vancouver this is the one.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms that face Granville Street

We stayed her after a cruise. We walked here from Canada Place and arrived at 7:30am and the hotel offered to store our bags. We then managed to walk to the seawall and Stanley Park in lovely gorgeous weather.

Our room was nice and faced inside. I guess this was a positive in that it was quiet but it had a view off the street so faced inside towards what I think was a hostel as we could see lots of bunk beds, socks and boxer shorts hanging outside windows, some dodgy characters hanging out windows smoking. In this sense, it felt a little bit 'dodgy' and our door didn't shut properly to our room either.

Cleanliness wise, the room was just 'OK'. The coffee machine was dirty as were the cups so we never used them. The bathroom however was lovely and clean and modern.

We paid extra for the breakfast and it was good value and there was a Tim Hortons across the road.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel after returning from a cruise. We were looking for a centrally located hotel to do some local sightseeing and reasonably close to the port... the Comfort Inn Downtown provided those two things very well. We had a large corner great room (#415) with a king size bed facing the street... the room was great, but the outside street noises could be an issue if you are a light sleeper (Friday and Saturday nights). The hotel is located very close to Granville Street where there are a lot of bars, night clubs and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast buffet was also very good.

Room Tip: #415 is a large corner room facing Nelson street... on weekends, street noise may be an issue if you...

This hotel is in a great location. Having said that there is a lot of street noise, if this bothers you ask that your room doesn't face the street. We stayed on a long weekend and had people being very loud in the halls, and they overloaded the elevator and broke it. Very unfortunate for us being we were on the 5th floor. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to street noise ask for a room that doesn't face the street.

The Comfort Inn is right on Granville street. We picked it because of it is a block from the Orpheum Theater. We had a room with a single queen bed. The room was quite small - just room for the bed and a small desk and some floor space. HOWEVER, the bed was very comfortable and the room was in great condition, fairly recently renovated. Our room was at the back with a view of the building next door and it was very quiet, I am a light sleeper and I had a real deep sleep.
There is an in room safe for your use.
If you want a basic room with a great bed to sleep in, try it.
The desk staff are very friendly and helpful if you need any local information.
We were very impressed with the room and will stay here again the next time we want to stay in downtown Vancouver.

Room Tip: The queen single rooms are at the back and seem to be the quiet rooms.

The hotel is well located, in the city centre. Breakfast was good value, served in the pub down in the same building. Room was a bit noisy because of people/staff in the corridors. You find a multicultural environment in the streets close to the hotel, which can be nice or not, depending on your mood.
