A three course meal offered for a great price through TravelZoo. The Crab Bisque was delicious, there was plenty of crab in the large shared entree - however, the accompanying roasted vegetables were cold. Dessert was also good. Great value for the money spent. It's nice to have the good quality local food in such a nice location. Great people watching on Granville Island out the window.

I went to Edible Canada Bistro at Granville Island with a friend for lunch last week. It was 1:00 PM and we were seated at a table next to the side entrance. The restaurant was half-full but for over 10 minutes, no one came over to ask if we wanted any beverages or having any questions on the menu. We finally had to ask a bus person to check out who our server was. Then came a woman who was not wearing a uniform, using a very cold voice, she asked us, "So are you both ready to order now?" After we ordered 2 Lobster Bisque, a Salad and a basket of bread. She left.
For another 15 minutes, no one came over and we still didn't know who our food server was. We had to ask the same bus person for some water. 5 minutes later, our food server, a young girl with uniform, eventually appeared with the two Lobster Bisque ... Where is the bread? Where is our salad? When we asked the woman who took our food order, her reply was "They are coming!" We wonder when did this restaurant adopt the Italian culinary tradition to serve salad as the last course?
The Lobster Bisque was lukewarm and had some either fish or lobster meat that had absolutely no texture in it. So we asked the same woman what was in the soup, she said " It's a Lobster Bisque, there should be nothing in the soup, no lobster, no fish ...". Oh my god, what did we just swallow?
At this point, my friend was quite upset and asked our food server to bring us the bill. No desserts, no coffee, no tea. We just wanted to leave. Then came the bill, totalling $37, I gave the food server a $50 bill and she causally asked, "How much change do you want back?" I've been to many restaurants all over the world, this is my very first time to hear of this redicules questions. To me, tipping is a gesture to show appreciation of good service. It's not a must. Well, despite our disappointment, we still put down 15% tip for her.

Fish in fish and chips was blah with slaw that was so salty it was inedible and edamami peas that were tasteless. Seafood soup was good. Looked like brunch menu would have been a good move on the Saturday we were there but we weren't up for that. If you're not going for brunch, you might try somewhere else.

My husband and I went for the Travelzoo Crab feast . It was wonderful. A huge platter of shelled crab and the shell to prove it ! There was a nice array of vegetables , no heavy sauces and very tasty. The drinks were reasonable . The service was great . In the summer I can see this place would be a hit, close to the theatres . The menus look interesting and they also have theme ones.

We were recommended to eat here!
It's interesting and right under the bridge which is being repaired, very noisy.
The food was ok but not anything special and the much heralded "duck fat" chips rather disappointing.
The real feature was al dente eating with a drink and "people watching".
In truth I think we would have preferred eating in the food market without a drink.
