We had good food and service here. Lunch was a little busy and the atmosphere is casual but for us, for lunch it was a good choice. It was not fast paced, but we weren't in a hurry.

Edible Canada was a great stop in the midst of the craziness of the public market on Granville Island. They had many gluten free choices and were knowledgeable in the kitchen practices for providing a safe gluten free meal. I had the rice tempura fish and chips (the chips are fried in duck fat - yum). The fish was salmon and the crust was crispy and tasty. Whether or not you need to eat gluten free, this is an excellent dish. My friend had the grilled cheese with green apple, which was also excellent, and a glass of chardonnay. The wine was quite good, but was priced at $11.50 for the glass which I thought was a bit steep. We sat outside which was lovely except for the swooping birds. They also have indoor tables available. I definitely recommend for a break from your day at Granville Island.

Four of us had dinner recently. In fact, we were the first to take advantage of BC's new BYOW (bring your own wine) policy at this restaurant ($20 corkage for BC wine, $30 for everything else). Sara, our server, was thrilled and decanted the wine for us. Food was very tasty. Two of us had the sablefish (birch syrup is definitely a neat, new taste), one had the halibut ( a bit dry - hence 4 stars, not 5), and one the flank steak (great duck fat frites). Appies included the asparagus salad, and, more importantly, the seared foie gras. Both were delicious, but the foie exceeded expectations. Nice, crusty sear, and a delicate pain perdu to add that little bit of extra richness. The only disappointment was dessert. The raspberry-chocolate tart tasted like it just came out of the fridge. The chocolate ganache was stiff, and cold. The overall dish was tasteless, and a disappointing finish to an otherwise great meal. Service was attentive and friendly, without being intrusive, and the overall ambiance relaxed and friendly. We'd definitely go back.

Six of us enjoyed great local food and wine. Service was great. Lots of outdoor seating although we ate inside with the open kitchen.

After walking around the island and checking out all the menus, we decided Edible Canada Bistro was the best choice and we were right!!! Friendly, helpful and efficient staff! Great assortment of beers! THE MOST DELICOUS BURGER!!! They grind their own meat, succulent, juicy, worthy of the most finicky burger connoisseur!! The salmon fish and chips were really good too but the burger blew me away!!!
