“Extremely average food”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

Meat was overdone, pasta and soup were surprisingly very bland (they looked very nice). We had to add a lot of salt and pepper to everything. There was unfortunately nothing special about any of the food. The overall thoughts from everyone were that it was much to expensive for what we received.

“Great service--great food”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Not sure which we enjoyed most, the service or the food, both were excellent. A good variety of choices in all categories and each prepared perfectly. The restaurant seats 45 and feels comfortable rather than crowded and the owners take great pride in what they serve, Rosa makes the desserts ( yummy) and Pino cooks the rest in the open kitchen, constantly in motion but surprisingly quiet. The ingredients fresh and organic and we felt as if we were dining in ne of those small family restaurants that Italy is so famous for. No wonder this is a favourite neighbourhood dining spot. Looking forward to trying the Osso Buco on a cooler day! One of those places that you leave smiling and feel as if you have made new friends! Nice to still be able to make reservations as we find that option disappearing in many places, maybe this represents confidence in their clientele actually showing up.

“Perfect”
Reviewed April 13, 2012

This is a small, first-class, family run-establishment. When more and more restaurants are so noisy you can't carry on a conversation and you come out with a sore throat, this is a perfect escape from trendy, hip and headache induced dining. We really love coming here for a meal where the food, particularly the veal dishes are terrific, where the music is just there in the background but not obtrusive and where Rosa and Pino Milano treat their customers as special guests and friends. The space is small but is enhanced by having an open kitchen where Pino is busy all the time. Their menu has an excellent selection of tasty Italian dishes - some are ones we are all familiar with and others are not available everywhere in town. They also have a very reasonable special 3 course dinner - $28.00. So, for those wanting a place where they can go to enjoy good food with friends, or family, in a really pleasant atmosphere they should try this, one of our favourite places to go for dinner, before theatre, or after the early movies.

“Wonderful little Italian restarant”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

My family went for a quick dinner and I reserved via Opentable.com. The restaurant was small and cozy (maximum 40 guests). Service was prompt and personal. Three of us shared an antipasto for wwo and there was ample food. The server recommended a seafood pasta with a slightly spicy tomato sauce and my wife enjoyed it. I ordered the osso bucco and the portion was generous. My son had the risotto di mare and there was lots of seafood. The risotto was drier than other restaurants and my family liked that. I ordered a glass of the house red wine imported from Italy and turned out to be a valpolicella that had quite a full body and went well with the meat. Price was reasonable. Unfortunately we did not have time for dessert, so we will have to go back again.

“Small restaurant with BIG results”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

6 of us gathered for dinner before going to a play. None of us had eaten there before, I found the name on the internet as a place to dine close to the Stanley Theater. What a wonderful surprise! Between the 6 of us we had 5 different items from the menu.......soup to salads, mussels, pasta and risotto. We all raved about the hot and delicious food! The servers were very attentive and when they learned we were going to the play, they made sure we were out on time. We will be back!
