This is one of the newly opened Guu restaurants located near the other great Japanese ramen houses on Denman. The following dishes were devoured that evening: Korean beef bowl served with brown rice (yes!! for the health freaks), chicken karaage (2 styles) - great sharing dish and a staple to izakaya places, marinated eggplant in ginger soy (pretty good and refreshing), cold yaki udon noodles (cold on the menu - luke warm, but perfect temperature), soy enoki mushroom with tuna, seaweed mushed potato salad with tobiko - perfect combination (texture with a zing of salt)!
FYI - need some good draft beer with these dishes! Had Sapporo, however, I am an Asahi super dry fan! The atmosphere is more quaint and less noisy then other typical Guu locations.
