The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are large, lovely, and elegant, and the personnel could not have been nicer or more attentive. It's not inexpensive, but the price we paid for a room was more reasonable than the rate I was quoted for comparable accommodations elsewhere. The hotel is centrally located, within an easy walk of anything you're likely to want or need, including the sea ferry to Granville Island, Starbucks, souvenir stores, and a high-end shopping area. Valet parking is a little pricey, but it's worth knowing that they charge you only half the normal price if your car is a hybrid.

Was originally booked at Vancouver Pinnacle for a Wed-Sat trip for Adele concert, however the reservation was cancelled last minute when Hotelling.com went out of business. Note: Be very careful when booking reservation through 3rd parties and always check if your visa card will cover you for services not rendered.

Anyway, almost every hotel in Downtown Vancouver was booked so had to pay over $550 CAD a night + tax, no other options available. The hotel is typical Fairmont, room was very clean, great beds, etc... The concierge service is outstanding, gave us some advice a few local services and landed us a reservation at Joe Forte's that I was unable to book.

My wife and daughters went to the mad hatter tea/brunch. It was okay, however does not compare to the Tea's at the Empress (Victoria) or Laurier (Ottawa).

I have previously complained about the outrageous drink prices at Fairmont lounges and bars, however this Fairmont offers a happy hour with 1/2 price beer and wine. So prices are now the same as a normal restaurant/bar from 3-5 pm.

Lastly, valet/self parking was rather expensive ($55 CAD), however vehicle was always down within 10 mins. All in all, great location, great service however the prices in summer and peak periods are very high (typical of Vancouver in general)

I really enjoyed my stay at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Amazing hotel with a rich history in the city. I highly suggest you visit their webpage before you arrive and watch the short video telling the story, it really will enrich your experience.

The rooms are a good size and wonderfully clean, bathtubs large, bedding fresh and high end. In fact everything at this hotel is high end. Note to anyone who is looking to have a glass of wine or two in the room, bring your own or go to the bar downstairs. I enjoyed the mini bottle of red that was in the room already, think it was a Sumac Ridge but I may be wrong. I expected it to be over priced but definitely had a good laugh when I saw that I was charged $40 for two glasses. I should have simply walked to a wine vendor but didn't know where to find one, should have asked one of the many door men. The location is superb and service exceptional.

The pool and fitness facility is lovely and clean. I spent all Sunday morning at the pool, its not huge but the windows are great, pool side furnishings and outdoor patio make for a relaxing way to spend some time before check out.

A short 200 ft away is City Cycle, I highly suggest you borrow a bike and either take a self guided tour or join one of the many unique tours that they offer.

Will definitely be returning to this unique piece of Vancouver history.

Room Tip: I stayed in a king suite, it was great. The windows do open a little bit.
