We dined at Hawksworth on several occasions while staying at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in which the restaurant is located in March. Our impressions were quite different for dinner and breakfast.
Dinner was good with the exception of an entree that was over salted. Service was pleasant, although somewhat thetarical, and we found the sommelier’s attention too intrusive. We had barely sat down and not even surveyed the menus before he was inquiring whether he could recommend a wine He also attempted to whisk away our glasses while we were still drinking.
At breakfast, we routinely ordered the egg white omelette, so it’s unfair to judge the kitchen on this dish. It was predictably bland. Our complaint is with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the lack of which was apparent in daylight hours. There were crumbs all over the floor near our seats and on the banquette seats. One of the waiters seemed incapable of answering any of our requests with a response other than “no problem,” In one exchange, I counted 20 “no problems.”.If I were at an Earl’s or Dennys. I’d expect that, but not here. How about: “It would be my pleasure” or “Of course “or even “Certainly”?
