Very close to Stanley Park. Affordable. Quick and easy to rent a cycle and ride to sea wall. The sea wall was really crowded and had to walk your bike a few times which was annoying if you wanted to get decent exercise.

While Vancouver is a wonderfully walkable city, the area offers so much beyond its down town... Horseshoe Bay, Lighthouse Park and Grouse Mountain come quickly to mind.

Spending two days in Vancouver in July, I wanted an adventurous way to get out and about. A scooter from Cycle BC turned out to be a great choice.

Providing a thorough explanation of contracts and excellent instruction in riding...along with all the time I could want to practice up and down their ramp... I felt comfortable riding off with a Honda Jazz. The scooter, while a bit underpowered on hills leading up to Grouse Mountain, was quite nimble and performed flawlessly.

I wouldn't call the rental cheap... you could probably get an econobox for a similar price... but this was a wonderful way to tool around town on sunny 75-degree days. So long as the weather cooperates, this is a great way to add to your Vancouver experience... short of renting a true motor cycle!

As an avid motorcyclist, my favourite way to explore a city and surrounding areas is on two wheels. Fortunately, during my last trip to Vancouver, my wife and I were able to take advantage of the services offered by Cycle BC.

We stopped in just after opening on the first sunny day of our trip to sign out a couple of R1200GS's for a ride up to Whistler. The staff was very helpful in ensuring my wife and I were comfortable with the bikes we were renting, and suggested a few routes that would be of interest. Of equal importance, the motorcycles were obviously well cared for and maintained.

Once we donned the (included) helmets and the rented jackets, we were on the road in no time. The scenery was incredible, the roads outstanding, and bikes were flawless. Though the distance from Vancouver to Whistler is short (~130km), plan a LOT of extra time to stop and take pictures!

Shortly after 6PM we returned the bikes (fully fuelled). Again, the staff was very courteous and ensured everything met our satisfaction (it did!).

The following day we rented scooters from the downtown location in order to tour Stanley Park. As with the East Ave facility, the equipment was impeccable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Using a scooter is probably one of the best ways to get around the park. Speeds are slow, it's easy to jump on and off, and there was tons of storage for our souvenirs. It was a bit (a lot) unnerving to transition from a big bike to a scooter, but once I was acclimatized it was a riot.

The only negative comment I could come up with is with respect to the helmets. I was able to find one that fit, but nothing fit me comfortably. This is not a fault of Cycle BC, this is because MOST helmets don't fit me well, and I normally sport an Arai. If you are able to bring your own helmet, I would certainly advise it.

Recommendations:
- Bring your own riding footwear. Cycle BC has helmets, jackets, and gloves, but does not have any riding boots. We brought our own boots and gloves.
- Bring your own helmet. A rental helmet works if you can't bring yours, but a full day of riding is more comfortable in your own helmet.
- Bring a camera. Your going to need it. A lot.
- Bring food & water. Unless you're planning to stop often, bring nourishment for your ride.

Conclusion:
If you can't get your own motorcycle to Vancouver, Cycle BC is there to fill the need. Great staff, great bikes, and a perfect way to explore the area.

Thanks for the memories!!
