“Solid egg bennies, friendly service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

We dined at Moonpennies as an alternative to our hotel. Solid egg bennies and friendly service for a Saturday morning. Would consider again for breakfast.

“Give this place a miss”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

We were told, upon entering, that the restaurant's specialty was eggs benny but the three people in my party who ordered them declared them to be the worst ever, with greasy strips of side bacon rather than ham or back bacon. I ordered simple eggs and toast but the toast was plain bread, unbuttered, and the accompanying hashbrowns tasted like they were last week's potatoes, re-heated. There are so many great places to eat in Vancouver -- don't waste your money here. Service was minimal.

“Great place to duck in from the rain!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012 via mobile

We stopped at Moonpennies on our way to an appointment. We left our home in the valley extra early so we would have time for breakfast. We didn't plan on where we were going as there are so many hidden gems in Vancouver. Just a short walk from the Burrard Skytrain station we found ourselves here.

We both ordered the Eggs Benedict with bacon (you have the option of upgrading to smoked salmon). I also had a regular coffee which was very satisfying. Once you have placed your order they give you a number and you grab a table. We waited approximately 10 minutes for our breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was very rich and creamy. The entree came with a small portion of potatoes and about a cup of a warm black bean, corn salad. My husband was able to finish his whole meal while I was only able to finish 3/4. I would say they give you a very reasonable portion size for the price.

I can't say that I would stop here again but that's because I am eyeing the crepe place across the street!

“Best Rocky Road Ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2012

My son comes here for his lunch almost every day as his office is across the way. We joined him on a couple of occasions and were very impressed with the service and the food. Great selection of salads and paninis, wonderful coffee and the best Rocky Road in the world. On one visit there was a little confusion about our our order but it was soon sorted out. The staff were genuinely upset by this and brought us complimentary cakes .....they clearly care about their clientele despite being a busy, city centre restaurant. Very impressive.
