It's Days Inn and it's only ~$66/night in urban Vancouver. So I didn't expect more. The hotel features a central courtyard and all access to the room is directly from the outside. When it rains, make sure you bring your umbrella. It also offers free parking, free internet and free breakfast. Some other locations like downtown and Richmond will charge you $10-$30 for parking. I heard from locals that the area is not that safe but I didn't feel that. Internet is a little bit slow but still usable. Breakfast is in a very small room suits ~10 people. So, I've seen other guests without a seat. The meal is very minimal -- cereal, coffee, bread, bagel and juice. The room is okay. Beds are comfortable. It also has LCD TV, and a mini fridge. The bathroom is really small: 1 shower, 1 toilet, 1 sink and you need to squeeze in. Overall, for that price, it's a nice budget choice in the area.

Room Tip: West side McDonald's, east side parking lot. 3 stories, no elevator.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences of our hotel. Many of our guests like our the combination of our free parking and our location (being just outside of Downtown Vancouver). Driving in Vancouver can be difficult and parking can be expensive. Our beds are all new, so are the flat screen televisions and currently we are planning for our new furniture to arrive in January and February of 2012.

the Hotel has a Bad Location i mean is far from downtown and also has no restaurant so you have to go away for eat , are no restaurants in the area just a few that's means McDonald , subway , KFC, that are the restaurants is a few crossing the Street but are just like fast food to , the hotel is located next t a McDonald so as soon as you open the window you feel the smell at fat super bad, also the Hotel is total Cheap construction, you can definitively ear people talking or what ever are doing , not going that far the night before i check out the couple next door was having sex and i ear all about also the walls look like is going to fall down same with the painting in the wall look like a topical movie from a pour location in new York, the only reason why stay here it was for the free parking but location sucks , the hotel is a Cheap Option i do not recommend this Hotel at all , next time i will pay more and stay in a better place , staff is friendly always are looking after you.

Room Tip: Do not stay here for over 1 night is a cheap Place nothing to do around

I am sorry that we did not fulfill this guest's expectations. Most guests find our location very convenient. We are out of downtown, but we do offer free parking and if you wanted to avoid driving in Vancouver there is a bus stop conveniently located one half block away. We do not have a restaurant but if you cross the street there is a great restaurant (that the chef owns) called the Tipper, traditional Canadian/American food. There is another family run restaurant, Vietnamese food, that is open 24 hours. Again, my apologies to this guest.

The selection of the Days Inn Metro was based on the following factors: 1) good Trip Advisor rating; 2) vicinity to Downtown; 3) free parking; 4) easy to reach from the airport (even without a GPS navigator and after an intercontinental flight). The choiche turned out to be a very good one, since all these expectations were confirmed.
The place is clean, the staff is corteous and helpful, and the free breakfast is better than average.
Our room was on the 2nd floor and had an outside window on the back facing a McDonald's parking lot, but it did not disturb our sleep
The only non positive remark are: 1) the lack of an independent heating system in the bathroom, so that the entire room needs to be overheated to assure a comfortable temperature in the shower; and 2) the lack of an elevator to reach the 2nd floor or the breakfast room in the basement.
I stayed previously in this property (2006) and I would gladly return if the case.

Stayed here from Septemebr 28th for 7 nights. Clean and comfortable rooms, beds were very comfortable. Breakfast room very small, however we never had to wait for a table.
Bus stop only 50 yards straight to downtown for $2.50, or skytrain station at Nanaimo only a 10 minute walk, all very accessable. Overall would recommend to anyone looking for good, clean, reasonably price accommodation, will use again when in Vancouver.

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the left hand side as it overlooks McDonalds and it is 24 hours, and it is well used, so traffic coming and going at all hours of thye day.

I am glad that your stay with us went so well. Our location is very convenient to public transportation which has our guests avoiding the hectic driving in downtown and the expensive parking. We have done some upgrades recently (all brand new beds, drapes, flat screen televisions and lights) and our new furniture will be here in January and February.

The Motel had a nice entrance, but not wheelchair friendly or suitcase friendly, only steps. The courtyard garden is lovely. Our room was small, and was full of ciggerette odour, Reception rang soon after we arrived to check if everything was OK, I asked if it was a smoking room, she said No, I told her about the smell, she said it couldn't be helped if people smoked outside the room. after that evening I began to feel very ill, I went to the front desk and asked to change rooms, or be given a full refund, he was very reluctant, and said can you wait until morning, I said No, Another person came out of the back office and gave us another room, no smoke smell and no Asthma. If the smoking seat and bin was removed from outside of the room we were first given and another area set aside from all rooms, there would not be a problem. The motel is a good distance from the city area, the motel provided us with bus and train directions which was very helpful. Public transport is very cheap. I thought Metro, would have been closer to the city centre, this was my mistake, so take in that it is a good 30 to 40 minutes to Vancouver city. This reflects in the Motel price. Small rooms and bathrooms.

Room Tip: remember to ask for a room away from smoking benches and bins.

Thank you for your review of the hotel and I am glad that you enjoyed our Courtyard. All of our rooms of course are non-smoking but we do have a couple of designated smoking areas. I am glad that we were able to switch your room to make your stay more enjoyable. Whenever you have an issue, any issue, in our hotel I ask that you let us know and give us the opportunity to fix it for you.
