This is considered a 3 star hotel but it gets an extra point Staff is very accommodating and called us shortly after we arrived in our room to see if everything was Ok.
Location is 2 blocks downhill to the pier. There are plenty of hotels in the area but this was the least pricy for the time of year. We are only interested in a good nights sleep.
There is s free breakfast of 2 eggs, toast and hash browns. Any thing extra is charged. This is not a buffet, but full service. The meal was tasty and generous.
This is an old historic building so each room is differently sized. They are small and basic. Some are double doubles. Photo is attached. We had a queen with full tub, however the stopper is disabled. I had no problem stopping the drain with a hack.
If noise is an issue, ask for a room on the side. Mind you your view will be a wall or looking at the side of an office. Being an older building the heat and AC is a kind of window unit that some may consider a loud blower and others as white noise.
The room has a refrigerator and Pod type coffee maker.

It's great that the sit down breakfast is included. The location can't be beat. However, there are no safes for valuables in the room and the elevator is incredibly slow to arrive for the number of floors in the building. Also, the halls look tired and need refreshing.

Room tip: the second time I stayed there the room was incredibly small with broken tiles in the bathroom, no tub and no safe.

Thank you for your review JMF24A, I am happy to hear you enjoyed our complimentary made to order hot breakfast! We also agree with you the location is top notch. During the room refresh it was noted that many of the old safes were in dire need of replacement due to varying reasons and we have placed orders for new safes which will be installed in the near future (at current 60% of our rooms do still have a safe). We will indeed take a closer look at the hallways as well as they have been recently painted with fresh carpet laid just this past winter, though there is always room for improvement. Once again thank you and we hope to see you again in the near future.

Sincerely,

stayed here on overnight before cruise and very disappointed,
staff very good, but room very basic and smallest shower room ever and not very presentable,
breakfast was disappointed too as in was included in over priced cost, but you were not told it was no choice just what waitress gave you, and that was terrible too. will not book again,

Thank you Mark G for taking the time to provide your review of our hotel, I am sorry to hear that your stay with us was not what you expected. Our Front Office Staff should be communicating the breakfast options to all guests on arrival, we do indeed offer the option for all guests to order from our full menu at a discounted price if the complimentary breakfast is not sufficient. We will take your feedback and look at our staff communication of this in the future.

Thank you,
