“Tiniest hotel room ever, but good location”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Our hotel room was tiny, although the bathroom was a decent size with an English size tub. Even the ironing board was tiny, one of those table top models. The room had a lousy view of another building's wall only a couple of feet away and consequently was very dark.

The hotel would shuttle guests post-cruise, but not pre-cruise. This was an inconvenience.

This hotel charged for breakfast, so my husband and I ended up walking a block away to Tim Horton's. The location to various businesses and eating establishments really saved this hotel for us. We took a taxi with a wild and crazy driver to get there, but, after that, we walked everywhere: Stanley Park, the Jimi Hendrix Shrine, Chinatown, Avis Rental Car, and a great gluten-free restaurant called 'SMAK'.

Dear guest, thank you so much for your review.
By the title of your review I can see you stayed at one of our smallest rooms, standard rooms vary in size from 120 to 230 sqft, I am looking at our floor plan right now.
We don't offer comp breakfast, nevertheless, we have many breakfast options at our restaurant starting at $7 and a great Public House called The Butcher & Bullock. All the best!

The Hotel and room was very clean. The restaurant on the lower level was very clean and the prices were very reasonalble.
They had a breakfast special from Monday thru Friday for only $6.95 that was great. The hotel was walking distance to stores and restaurants and a few blocks to the Cruise terminal and the waterfront and Convention Center.
and also close to the Seaplane Tour take off deck. The Days Inn Hotel is
only about 20 to 30 min. from the airport according to the traffic and the
time of day or night. The fare is $40 or less. We left the airport about
2:50 PM and our fare was $34.80.
The amenities in the bathroom were satisfactory. There more amenities
than exspected. There was shampoo, shower cap, soap, hair dryer and plenty towels and a very nice walk-in shower with plenty hot water and great water pressure. The beds were very comfortable and spacaes double beds. The room wasn't very large but it was large enough for us to get around in. There was a frig, coffeemaker large flat screen TV and there was filtered
water avaiable to drink and a ice machine on each floor and also a washer
and dryer. The hotel had all of the modern conveniences to make your stay
vey comfortable. We didn't stay in the room that much, there was lots to
do and things to see. If you just wanted to relax in your room and lay
around then you would need a hotel with a larger room or a more of the
luxury hotel chain. I would go back and stay at this hotel again and again.
It is place to stay if you want to spend your money site seeing and enjoying
the city of Vancouver and the surrounding areas such as Victoria Island.
It served it's purpose very well.

Just came back from trip to Vancouver, stayed at the days inn, must say I was very very impressed with how clean the room was, very comfortable, housekeeping were very friendly, asking if we needed anything, and if there was anything we needed they would be around till 4, so that was very nice. very nice large tv in the room and good sized fridge
I would stay there again, only couple minute walk to the waterfront, shops and the train station, a good place to call home for a couple of days!

Dear Lorraine,
I wil let the housekeepers know you were pleased with their service. It's a group of polish ladies, very kind and hard working that have been at the hotel many years.
All the best

We stayed here pre- and post-cruise for two nights each time. We were a little wary because of some negative reviews, but we felt these were unfounded, and were impressed with the hotel. Not the height of luxury, but fresh, clean and very comfortable. The first two days we had a smallish room, but it had a huge shower in a re-furbished bathroom. The second two nights were in a very big room with a tub and shower in the bathroom. The decor in the public areas is good (although a bit drab) and the decor in the bedrooms is fine. The rooms were clean and VERY comfortable - lovely beds and pillows. Couldn't fault the location - walking distance for most city locations, and very close to the cruise ship terminal. On our return from the cruise, we arrived back very early in the morning, knowing the check-in time wasn't until the afternoon. We expected to leave our bags and have to fill in a few hours, but they allocated a room, asked us to take a seat, and told us when the room had been prepared, which was about 45 minutes later. Very impressive! I would thoroughly recommend the Days Inn Downtown, and would definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at this hotel three times now, (during two different visits to Canada) and would thoroughly recommend it to those visiting Vancouver who want a clean and comfortable room in a hotel with a great location. It is within easy walking distance (with luggage) of Canada Place, where the cruise ships arrive and depart from. Also very handy to the Sky train station, enabling you to travel easily and relatively cheaply out to the airport.
There are bus stops nearby to take you further afield, ----- but many attractions, shops and eating places are within easy walking distance of the hotel. i.e. A walk down to Canada place, and then a stroll along the waterfront is a delightful way to spend an evening.
The staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are not large, and this hotel does not have all the 'frills' of a larger and more modern hotel. But for a traveler who wants to get out and about to explore this beautiful city, the Days Inn Downtown is an ideal base to do it from.
