“Great hotel, excellent location and price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2011

We stayed here for one night on September 2nd. This hotel is very reasonable and clean and great location--just steps to the boat to Granville Island and beyond. This was building was previously all apartments so the suites all have kitchens, washer and dryer and even the smaller rooms are spacious. We took the train up from Seattle and were able to be in our room before the usual check in time--that is always a big plus for me! The staff was excellent--and when I called in a panic they had already found my cell phone that I must have dropped in my room prior to checking out. What a relief. I highly recommend staying here. They have rolls, coffee and juice in the morning.

Room Tip: If you are higher up and don't face the street it is probably quieter--but traffic in the city d...

We just left 910 Beach Avenue after a 3 night stay.

The PROS:

1. Good location; convenient to Granville Island (you can just jump on the Aquabus and 2 minutes later, you're there.)
2. Very nice staff; accomodating and friendly.
3. Good kitchen facilities and washer/dryer

The CONS:
1. Difficult to move luggage from car to room; narrow doorways and having to unlock doors.
2. Poor lighting in room for reading.
3. Cheap, plastic blinds on every window that were a pain for raise and lower.
4. There was a large, unusable room across from the bathroom - we had no idea
of its purpose - just a big waste of space.
5. Had to pay $10 a day for internet - they gave us an ethernet cable - it wasn't wifi
6. Had to pay for parking - $15 a day plus 33% tax...ridiculous

This place was in a great location - only a short ferry ride away from Granville Island and rigt on the seawall. We hired bikes up the street and rode to and around Stanley Park, which was beautiful. We also enjoyed walking teh Seawall (both directions) early in the morning and late at night.
This place (even parking) was very good value compared with other places to stay in Vancouver.
There were complimentary pastries and fruit in the lobby at breakfast and coffee in the room. A small convenience store is right across the street.

Hotel prices in season are well over $200 in Vancouver. 910 Beach is a combined residential, apartment and hotel building that sits a few hundred feet from the Aquabus ferry at Hornsby. Our junior suite, which was a great bargain at $155 included a queen bed, sofa bed, mini kitchen with full size refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave and the best part - a stackable washer and dryer! We bought laundry detergent and did our laundry. The room was clean. The bathroom had shampoo, but oddly no conditioner.

The disappointments are that it is not air conditioned and even more surprisingly, the windows open, but there is no screen. I asked how do you avoid getting bugs and they said it was a Vancouver tradition and that mosquitoes were not a problem at their location. Turns out, he was right because we slept with the windows open and it kept a cool breeze in the room and for some reason, the bugs did not come in.

The other disappointment was we were promised a room facing Granville Island and False Creek, but turns out that there is a huge high rise building smack in the middle of the view.

They offer internet access via ethernet cable, but NO wifi. The cost is $10 a day. Oh, and a very nice deal is complementary continental breakfast.

Room Tip: Save some money and get the room without the view.

We booked this hotel for a family get away. My mom takes myself with my two kids on mini "vacations" about once a month during the summer/fall to help with the dreary weather of WA. The website makes this hotel look amazing and like a great find. To start off there is no way to park your car except on the street when you arrive to check-in and there are often no spots avaliable near the hotel. With restless little ones this makes for a hard check in because then you can to get back to the car to park unground. Granted that parking was secure but they use keys (not the most secure because people can copy/steel them) and its hard to get the key into the mechanism ot open the gate. It was a clean and well lite parking garage but the spots were tiny and close to gether and it is very tight quaters so getting in and out is challenging. Then the room....it was dirty- spots of hand prints all over windows, broken blinds, dirty dishes, no dish soap, open cup of powdered dishwasher soap that was halve emtpy, and the kitchen did not look like the one in the picture. We were happy to have a kitchen but the dirty dishes was just too much. The location is AMAZING because it is right on the beach ave and there is acess to a lot. If you are not looking for much space, have a tight budget, dont mind a hard noisy (squeaky) bed, and challenging parking then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Bring your own dish soap, sponge, and all bathroom necessities.

We regularly stay at 910 Beach when we visit Vancouver . . . what keeps us coming back? Well the location is fantastic - right on the seawall near Burrard Bridge, so great access to the beach, Granville Island, Yaletown and just a couple of blocks from Davie Street and the rest of downtown Vancouver.
The apartments provide everything you need, with kitchens and in suite laundry, but cost no more than a regular hotel room.
The staff are always friendly and helpful (even mailing my wifes forgotten jacket back to us at no cost)
The parking costs $15 daily and the parkade is bright, clean and very secure with 2 locked gates, and there are no shortage of spaces available.
The only cons i can think of is the lack of air conditioning (not often an issue in Vancouver!) and that some of the suites are starting to look in need of redecoration.
Also the window coverings are simple blinds which do not block out much of the street lights at night or the sunlight early in the morning, so some people may want to take a eyemask if this is an issue.
Overall I would recommend 910 Beach as a great place to stay in Vancouver :)

Situated on the waterfront, just across from Granville Island, the 910 Beach Hotel is ideally situated for people interested in exploring the beautiful city of Vancouver. Our stay was for just one night so we had limited experience with the hotel. Front desk personnel were very pleasant and helpful with information.
The morning breakfast was fine, though not elaborate. Coffee and rolls were sporadically available while new pots were brewed. The junior suite we had was outfitted with basic kitchen necessities but the layout was haphazard/cramped and seems to have been adapted from a previous design - our closet seemed larger than the kitchen.
On the plus side, we had a easy walk into downtown and were located just a block away from the water taxi to Granville Island.
