“Never Stay There!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

I had the great displeasure of staying the Hampton Inn in downtown Vancouver (British Columbia) this past weekend. I will never stay there again. The hotel had apparently booked a large contingent of college students from the University of Washington into the hotel for the weekend. The hotel was literally turned into a drunken teenage frat house party for the entire weekend. The loud noise up and down the hallways, raucous parties, students passed out drunk in the hallways, vomit and trash everywhere, elevators rendered inoperative, the pool made unusable from beer bottles and trash - we went down to the front desk multiple times and pleaded with them to call the police and put an end to the issues, but no action was taken.

What a complete disaster weekend for us - thank you for ruining my birthday weekend in Vancouver. We will never stay at this hotel again EVER!

Dear noworries 2000,

Thank you for your review of your recent stay. We are pleased that you selected our hotel for your birthday weekend. I was deeply disheartened to learn that the noise and activity of other guests was a major issue during your special celebration. We failed to anticipate that this groups behaviour would escalate to the point of police intervention. We are very sorry that we did not respond quickly enough to ensure the quality stay that you expect and deserve and that we are so accustomed to providing.

noworries 2000, as per our email communications, thank you so much for coming back to our hotel to give us another chance to redeem ourselves. We look forward to your return!

Sincerely,

Aliya Bhatia

This hotel is hard to find and the underground parking garage is a bit weird to get access to, but once you're in, this is a beautiful and comfortable hotel. Very good pizza in the restaurant, and you can walk across the street to Rogers Arena for big events..just missed Justin Bieber, it seems, and Bob Dylan was scheduled next. At night the Arena is lit in such a way that it looks a bit like a huge space ship has landed, but it's eerily serene to look at it. Just a tip--don't pay for water in the soda machines--the front desk will give you several bottles free.

Room Tip: upper floors are best; corner room ending in 16 best

We had to spend a night before going & a night after coming back from Mexico here in Vancouver. Because we live on the Island, the ferry & plane connections do not jive.
Everyone that we encountered at this hotel were so friendly. They go above & beyond the call of duty. Rather than us taking a cab to a Chinese restaurant, the manager drove us in her car because she was just getting off work. We had to be at the airport by 5:00 am. They gave us a breakfast bag to take along with us. Their continental breakfasts even include sausage patties, waffles, muffins, toast, scrambled eggs and much much more. This is our 3rd stay here.

We’d booked a cross Canada train/hotel package which included 1 night in Vancouver and gave us a choice of two hotels. Having read reviews on both we selected this one and extended the package by 8 more nights to cover one night prior to a cruise and then the remainder of our time in Vancouver. We’re really pleased that we chose this hotel. Service at reception was great, early check in after the cruise and late check-out before the train trip were no problem. An anomaly with our check-out date was pleasantly handled and quickly rectified. Both rooms we were given were spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was complimentary with a selection of breads, pastries and cereals plus a small choice of hot dishes. The location is good, the rooms we were given faced the BC Stadium but there was no noise problem. Shops, supermarkets, a variety of restaurants are nearby. SkyTrain stations and most of Vancouver’s attractions are within walking distance. We used the complimentary shuttle service twice and this worked well for us. Thank you Hampton Inn, if we ever return to Vancouver we’ll know where to stay.

This is a good location in the part of Vancouver that is close to lots of newer restaurants. It's located close to the beautiful Vancouver Library and the football stadium. Most things we went to was within walking distance. We had turned our car in so we did not have to deal with parking. We rented a car for the day when we went to some of the distance sights. The rooms were good size and had wifi in the room. The breakfasts were especially good. We have had good experiences with Hampton Inns. There was a building being constructed next door so we were able to see a construction crane being erected. The construction noise was not too bad.

I am in Vancouver monthly, always stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites, most often on business, occasionally with family. Appereciate the secured parking, friendly staff, excellent service and wonderful hot/cold breakfast, included in the price.
The hotel is a short walk to rogers Arena and across the street from BC Place. Located on Robson Street, very short walk to wonderful shopping and Pacific Centre mall. Easy access to the Cruise Centre at Canada Place.

Room Tip: no preference, all have a good view.

This place rocks ! Everybody bends over backwards for you. We did an overnight before are cruise and booked this hotel and we were glad we did. Rooms were large and clean. It just a short walk to excellent places to eat or shop! They have transportation to the ship just book early with the bellman. Breakfast area was small but the hotel was full and it seemed like everybody came down early. we really enjoyed this hotel to rooftop pool to staff.

Room Tip: go to the upper floors
