We went to the Gage Residence at the University of British Columbia and were very happy with our choice. It was a little hard to find were to register but once we found it they were very helpful.
The room had a T.V. , stove/oven, microwave and a fridge. It was very clean and nice size. The bathroom was very clean and had a lot of room too. It is a little ways from town but there is lots of transportation. There are some nice walking trails. We only stayed one night but if we return we would stay there for sure.

Room smelled of old cigarette smoke. Walls by bathroom had black mold growing on it. Wi fi didnt work. There isn't alot to do in the area. 35 dollar cab ride to tie...each direction. Staff is young and could care less what your talking about. Don't ever try to check in early...they could give a rats a##.and stick with the 3 o'clock time regardless.

Room tip: Stay somewhere else

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We pride ourselves on providing great customer service so we would like to know in more detail what the issue is. Some of Vancouver's top attractions are in the area including the famous Museum of Anthropology, some of Vancouver's best beaches. If you want to go downtown, there are several express buses that take you right downtown. We clearly state the check-in time of 3pm in order to have the rooms properly cleaned for the next guest. It is also a fairly standard check-in time for most hotels. If there had been a room available, we would have been more than happy to check you in early. We are also able to store your luggage for our guests so that they can go about their day. Once again, we apologize for your experience.

We stayed at Gage Apartments for 10 days while visiting family in Vancouver. The apartment was spacious and with a reasonably well equipped kitchen for light meals and breakfasts. Not always easy to shop for food locally and we ended up having to walk about a kilometre to find a good supermarket. The rooms were maintained spotlessly clean with good AC and a reasonable if a little basic bathroom. The only issue we had was the long waits at reception for even a simple query with the staff. With tax the suite came in at close to $200 a night which is up there with full service hotel costs downtown but it's a very pleasant campus to wander around and we enjoyed the peace and quiet up at UBC.

This was an excellent choice - it was a huge apartment and in a scenic location. The price was brilliant (assume as university) but was still easy to get into downtown. Gym, breakfast, 24 hours staff - brilliant

The property is beautiful, surrounded with greenery.
Rooms were average. Not enough towels. No AC, and it was pretty hot. Fans did not help.
Apartment building was not properly signed, it took us some time to find it.
