I stayed here after all the rave reviews. There are many pluses for this hotel, but a few caveats:
. The rooms are small and sparsely furnished. There is no easy chair.
. Do not hire a car and try to park it here. Granville Island is very busy, & I frequently
could not find hotel parking. The daily parking charge is $12.
. The V-shaped hotel has its restaurant and bar seating within the V, making for noisy
evenings in your room.
. The hotel restaurant merits only 3*, with slightly above average food (also expensive)
. Their Microbrewery is much praised. I disagree: the beers are lightweight.

However the hotel is very nice, and the staff very helpful. Being on Granville Island is a real treat.

I spent two nights on my own and wish it had been longer. I chose the Granville Island Hotel on the basis of a review on Trip Advisor from a woman who spent several Christmases there on her own with a dog. I was touched by her story.

The hotel more than lived up to the story. Staff were friendly, the room luxurious and clean, with a view of the water. The food in the restaurant was creative and tasty, especially when eaten outside on their patio by the Marina. The microbrewery at the heart of the hotel gives it a unique quality that many other high end hotels lack. The beer they make is delicious, even to a woman's palate. I met the brewer in the hotel lift and was entertained by his tales of the brewing process.

The Granville Island community is quaint and a lovely mix of operating businesses around the marina and tourist shops. The coffee and Red Cappuccino (rooibos tea) in the organic coffee shop are excellent. The public market with its overflowing stalls with a vast range local food is a treat in itself. Try the apple pie at the Pie shop.

I took a long walk by the shore back to the hotel from the Maritime Museum and enjoyed the Vancouver skyline. Everything is accessible from Granville Island, which nestles under two flyovers.creating a little island of pleasure.

Its a delightful world in an elegant city and I plan to go back. Its worth every penny.

This is a very nice hotel in a wonderful central location in Vancouver. They are pet-friendly and welcomed our rather large dog (for a fee of $25 per night), even though it seemed that the other dogs that were staying there were small. The restaurant on the ground floor has good food and a great view, but is pricey. We liked the modern rooms with the tile floor, which was nice because the weather was hot the weekend we came. Our room even had a large balcony. One problem we had is our room heated up terribly, and the window air conditioner didn't make much of a dent in cooling it. The personnel provided a fan to supplement the air conditioner, which helped. We would likely come back to this place, but next time we would make sure to get a room on the side that doesn't get the afternoon sun.

Stayed on night. Room very typical, clean, nice linens, air conditioning unit under window and noisey (again Typical). Somewhat pricey for type of room (your paying for the location). Parking is extra fee. One night is enough for the area

We stayed in this newly renovated hotel and attended a play while in Vancouver. The staff were extremely friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the water view from the room. The hotel was perfectly situated and we enjoyed this quiet and romantic stay in this glorious city. We would highly recommend this hotel.
