Wonderful staff, who recognized us and made our 11-year-old feel welcome each time we strode through the lobby. Good food in the restaurant, with attentive waiter. Very nice room (corner suite) with incredible views. Great place to chill out for a weekend in Vancouver. Didn't use the car, and just enjoyed Granville Island and the surrounding area on foot. Would definitely stay again, and far better all-around experience that some of our posh 4- and 5-star hotel stays on Robson Street, where the hotels are upscale and pricey, but the area gets old quickly.

Room Tip: Go for a corner suite. Worth the extra money!

Arrived Christmas Day, quick check-in even during crowded lobby for Festive Buffet intake at the same time. Had next seating at buffet - Dockside Restaurant - well worth it. Granville Island very quiet evening/overnight; travel through to/from the hotel could be slow during crowded daytime hours. Everything spotless and in good repair, staff very professional and courteous. Sleep in - hotel restaurant open at 7am, nearest Starbucks at 5:30 - but Island coffee/eats/market not until 8/9am. Still wonderful for a window-shopping stroll early or late.

Room Tip: Two stays within a week - "West wing" balcony-king room was larger, other wing had fancier...

All front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. I really appreciate not having the same bedspread surface from one guest to the next. Only negative was no remote with the DVD player...minor complaint.

My family and I have stayed in this hotel once before and so this was chosen as the a hotel for our return visit. We specifically requested rooms up on level 3 (314/315 I think) as they are connecting rooms - the one with the double bed has a great view along False Creek up to the
Science centre and the view from the 'kids' room whilst not as fantastic is still good.

We love this hotel. My only criticism is that the rooms are a bit small - especially considering the amount of luggage we were carrying. This really didn't bother us as we spend far more time outside the hotel exploring GI and Vancouver! The reception crew were excellent, helpful and friendly. WiFi was free and the GI markets and shops just a short walk. There is also plenty of nice walking (or jogging if the fit takes you) paths from the hotel.

We were out and about so much we didn't really use the restaurant/bar at the hotel but from our previous stay they do a very good job there too.

We didn't check the hotel out for kids activities but a uncommon snowfall in the city turned the hill behind the hotel into a great place for the kids to learn the trick of sliding down snow covered slopes on a plastic bag....

We will of course stay here next time were in Vancouver.

Enjoyed an overnight stay at the Granville Island Hotel after our company Christmas party at the Dockside Lounge. My room was on the second floor with a partial water view of False Creek. Free wi-fi was easy to connect and no problem. Bathroom fixtures were quite modern and it had only a shower and no tub. The big screen TV had hi-def channels. There was a well-stocked mini-bar. The only negative of the room was that the in-room safe was located near the top of the closet which made access a bit inconvenient.

The Health Club (exercise room) on the third floor was spacious and had 7 exercise machines, hot tub, and sauna. There was even a bowl of complimentary apples. The Business Centre, located on the second floor, was spacious. Overnight parking cost $15.12.

We stayed for two days at Granville Island Hotel while visiting family in Vancouver, over Christmas. We *thoroughly* enjoyed our stay! Our room was spacious, super-clean, and very quiet. The bed was comfortable; the view of the harbour magnificent! Check-in was easy and swift. The front desk staff, who had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, were friendly and gracious! The cleaning woman, who also had to work both days, greeted us with big smile and was happily accommodating when we asked her for extra towels! We couldn't have asked for a better experience! (Let me also add that we met the manager, Christine, while we there, and it was obvious to us that she is one 'savvy' manager! Honestly, things just don't go that smoothly in business — without someone like her expertly overseeing the operation in the background!) :)

I stayed here over Christmas and had a great time. The staff are exceptional especially since it was a holiday. I brought my doggies and the hotel was ideal for that-tiled floors, great walking paths and made to feel very welcome. The room was very clean, and I made good use of the balcony as the wine chiller. Great view and fresh air too! The salted caramel creme brulee was so decadent. I will definitely be back soon!
