This boutique hotel is perfectly located and gives you the warm fuzzier when you arrive. The back patio next to the harbor is a comfy place for a cocktail and conversant while one sits by the open, clean burning gas fired pits. Heck, they will even bring you a blankie. Don't run a red light. Stay at the Granville!

reasonably close to the airport, great location, enjoyed the dining room and the view.
I would have liked to have seen some coffee in the lobby, as the shops @ the market don't open that early. Stayed 2 nights in June. Thanks.

The location is great as it is within walking distance of the local market, which is a must see. There are shops and many eating places. The hotel was clean and we had a nice breakfast one morning during our stay. The only complaint is the same one I have about 95% of the hotels I have stayed in the world, and that is soundproofing. We could hear ever step taken by the folks in the room above.

This well-run hotel is a quiet retreat in the heart of the city. Dog-friendly, which we need, and such a great location for walks, shopping, and business.

We stayed at the Granville Island Hotel the weekend of June 15. We chose it because we were in a seminar at the hotel on Sunday but also for it's central location and good reviews. We were not disappointed. We chose an Executive Suite which was perfect for us. Our room ,really 2 separate rooms was right on the water over looking False Creek. It was the perfect location on the 3rd floor. The room was quiet, sunny and well decorated.
We found the location perfect whether shopping Granville Island, and Granville area, exploring the top rated restaurants nearby or just enjoying a coffee and paper watching the boats from our expansive windows.

The front desk staff were fantastic and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The patio and dining room looked very appealing but we only enjoyed a breakfast in the hotel, but had coffee delivered each morning to our room.
If you are looking for someone to wait on you, tipping staff non stop, then this is not the place for you. If you want a small more intimate, yet casual atmosphere then you've picked the right place. We did not see any other rooms so can comment only on our lovely room.

Perfect for a romantic getaway. No need to rent a car! We walked everywhere or took water taxi.

Room Tip: Splurge and go for executive suites which feel like you are on a cruise ship as you are so close to...

My aunt and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Granville island Hotel. We found the room very clean and very quiet. We spent nearly a whole day exploring all the shops and studios at Granville island. The next day we took a bus tour of Vancouver on the hop on hop off bus and it was so handy that there was a bus stop so near to the hotel. We also enjoyed our breakfast in the hotel's Docksde restaurant. Beautiful ambiance and gorgeous views. I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Vancouver.

We stayed in room 223 for a weekend. What a disappointment! Our cramped beige, peach, cream, grey, silver, black, white, red and navy room was not even close to the image of the richly textured room with the peaked window and wooden shutters displayed on the website as King room (no view). There was old chipped paint on the sad metal bathroom door and frame. One bathroom drawer was permanently closed by the location of the toilet paper holder. The shower had a skin ripping, water wasting force of water through the faucet to fill the tub that was reduced to a pitiful, water saving trickle when having a shower. Then the water consistently proceeded to toggle between freezing and scalding every time we tried to shower. The entry closet barely opened. Peeling wallpaper in the room accented the unfinished, unpainted rough cuts out of the crown moulding that house the smoke alarm. It felt like we were thrown into a room with incomplete renovations.

The jacuzzi tub was interesting. From one part of the room, you could see directly into someone else's room due to the angles of the window and the mirror. We saw a woman reading a book while lying in her bed :S

The staff was indifferent at best. We felt as though serving us was somehow a gross inconvenience to staff. In fact, when we were checking out, we had been patiently waiting when someone else in an obvious hurry cut in front of us. Instead of politely asking her to wait, we were ignored while staff proceeded to check her out first.

Management's response was comical: apparently they took my complaint so seriously that they were willing to offer me a whopping $100 off my bill on my NEXT stay so that they could show me what my experience was supposed to be like.

Unfortunately, after such a disappointing stay, I don't want to give the Granville Island Hotel any more of my hard earned money. Why would I choose to spend additional money to stay at a hotel that did not prove worth the value the first time? Summer rates start at $250. I am supposed to pay $150+ taxes so that they can show me what my hotel experience can be like? How about show that the first time?

The location is lovely and we enjoyed wandering around Granville Island.
The hotel and staff were an utter waste of money.
