“Best B&B and 6 star service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

Ive been meaning to write this since we returned home as i had to let people know how good it is.

We booked last minute and there was only one room left which was the most expensive but as most hotels would have been more and we really wanted to stay in a B&B we booked. We are very glad we did. Evan was so helpful from my first email. The house definitely has character and you can see how much love and effort goes into theB&B especially when you meet Evan and see how passionate he is about it. Our room was lovely and so comfortable. We were trying to figure out if we could take the bed home in our case....

Breakfast was lovely and different each day. We had a fruit smoothie, bowl of fruit and a hot breakfast. It was nice to sit with other guests at the large dining table and hear about their trip. Sherry was served about 5pm with nuts and chocolate and Evan sat and chatted to us. We really enjoyed this. Home made cakes were left out near the front door in the evening. There was also a fridge with drinks in you could have.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming B&B. it's close to Stanley park and in walking distance of other attractions. Hopefully one day we will return to Vancouver and we wouldn't look to stay anywhere else. Our favourite B&B from our whole Canadian trip

What a wonderful place to stay.
They owner himself could not be more helpful.
Meals and company shared at breakfast are a great way to find out about other peoples experiences.
Rooms and bedding are definitely five star.
There are little treats to nibble on everywhere and a small kitchenette amply supplied for use whilst sitting in the beautifully furnished lounge.
Proximity to transport is just one or two short blocks.
We definitely recommend it to anyone passing through this pretty city.

My husband and I just enjoyed another stay at one of our favorite B&B's, West End Guest House The Victorian house sits on a quiet residential street, walking distance to Stanley Park, Robson Street shopping and restaurants, and the walkable West End. Inside is a welcoming and charming sitting room where guests are encouraged to sit in front of the fireplace and relax, read, or get to know other guests. Breakfast in the dining room is a gourmet 3 course breakfast with juices or smoothies, fresh fruit course and large, hot entrees. We have always enjoyed the leisurely and delicious breakfasts visiting with guests from all over the world. Ron and Evan work very hard to make their guests feel relaxed and pampered. Rooms are furnished with unique antiques, beds covered in premium linens, and, our favorite, a feather bed. There is nothing more luxurious than crawling into a feather bed covered in crisp, ironed sheets. The only thing that can get us out of the cozy bed and room in the morning is the delightful breakfast with th fire roaring in the fireplace. We have been staying at West End for over 15 years and we always look forward to returning. Even when it is cold and wet in Vancouver, Evan and Ron will make sure you are warm and comfortable, booked into the many restaurants nearby, and acquainted with the unlimited activtes that Vancouver offers.

Room Tip: We have stayed in all the rooms except the cozy designed for 1 person. Every room iscomfortable and...

I have to be honest, I did not fall in love with Vancouver. It was cold, rainy and a bit impersonal. I did however fall in love with the West End Guest House. It's on a quiet, beautiful , tree lined street off of the main shopping areas. The hosts are very kind and happy to give suggestions for restaurants and activities in the surrounding areas. The room was cozy and quaint, with Victorian decor, including a stuffed animal. The shower was also awesome, hot water and great water pressure (sigh). I really enjoyed the hot breakfasts the hosts prepared for us every day, as well as the experience of eating with the other guests, sharing lively conversation. The hosts even took great care to leave us baked goods every night. I highly recommend this lovely spot .

Had a three night stay in this lovely bed and breakfast. A fantastic spot in Vancouver and walking distance to parks, shops, bars and restaurants. We stayed in Room 4 which was a little small but still comfortable and enjoyable the house in all is very well kept and very clean and nicely decorated to an original theme. Evan and his team were excellent ….. Friendly and helpful and breakfast each morning was awesome! This wee gem made our stay in Vancouver: )

We stayed as a family for 5 nights and it is in a great location with a family feel. The building is lovely and the breakfast was very nice if you like the family feel B&B experience. We occupied two rooms of which one was a little dated but still nice. I'd love to go back to Vancouver city and I'd stay here again :)

Thank you for writing and confirming my thoughts. Each year I spend lots of time thinking of ways to make the house nicer for my guests but of course it is a small business so it is difficult to update everything each year. I've been shopping, made purchases and have got plans to brighten up some rooms, change furniture in others and work on anything that seems dated. The house is 107 years old so it is old but it shouldn't feel 'dated'. Thank you for giving me permission to engage my creative self.

We stayed for a total of three nights in September/October and really enjoyed it. The B and B is in great location close to the main shopping area, many restaurants, the waterfront and Stanley Park. West End Guest House is a beautifully furnished old house, lovely rooms, fantastic breakfasts, tea and coffee available and wifi. The service is excellent and the atmosphere casual and friendly. We shall definitely look to return to the West End Guest House when next in Vancouver and thoroughly recommend it.
