On Richards Street, within walking distance of many restaurants, Stanley Park, the Maritime Museum, and a $10m cab ride from the train station, the Kingston Hotel is a gem. Friendly, helpful staff, clean room, decent price; I would stay there again.

I stayed here for 4 nights in July, selecting this hotel purely for its central location and price. With these criteria in mind, I admit I wasn't expecting a palace, but was very pleasantly surprised. The room was fine, a little stuffy initially, but a fan was provided. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout the stay. Breakfast was basic but more than sufficient, and one could have as much as one pleased. I never once had to wait for the shared shower facilities, and the laundry room was clean and efficient. There was construction occurring immediately next to the hotel, but I was never really aware of it, and it didn't interfered with sleep at any point. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and fully intend to stay here again, should I be fortunate enough to darken the shores of Vancouver again in the near future.

Stayed here for one night after a 14 hour flight from New Zealand and won't be in a hurry to come back. The room were clean but really small and very basic - not even a kettle to make tea! The double bed was the smallest I have ever seen in my life, I was almost scared to roll over in the night incase I knocked my girlfriend out.

The bathrooms were clean enough but you often had to wait a while to use one which was quite annoying. Towels were supplied though.

The worst thing about this hotel is the 2 building sites on either side. The hotel is literally an island surrounded by 2 massive, deep holes (which are obviously foundations for highrised buildings) with multiple diggers and other machinery. We were woken about 7am or earlier when work started so it's not really the place to stay if you're wanting to sleep off the jet lag. The road on the front is also really busy but you do expect that staying in a city centre.

All in all I think this hotel needs to take a long look at it's problems and prices then come up with something realistic. Just because your location is brilliant doesn't mean you can charge the earth for it.

We stayed for four nights in late September and found it to be just as we expected having read the trip advisor reviews on it.
The hotel is in the middle of a major construction project, being in fact the only building still standing on that part of the block. Construction noise is a consideration week days after around 07:00 as is the dust generated.
The hotel is well situated and convenient for most down town attractions. it has free guest wi-fi access and a computer that guests can use. The hotel also has facilities for guests to do laundry in a coin operated facility. There are also communal fridges for guests use.
This is an older style hotel with which you get the design issues arising from that. It also has that smell to it of an old building. The rooms are small and old design but clean and well maintained, as is the rest of the hotel. Each room has a sink and towels and shampoo, soap etc is provided. The rooms have no TV or radio. The communal bathrooms and showers to are clean and well serviced. Breakfast which is advertised as continental and is included in the room rate consists of tea, coffee, juice, toast or bagels.
We used the Sky bus from the airport using the Canada line towards waterfront to the nearest station to the hotel Vancouver City central station two blocks away. Its around a 20 minute trip and the fare is $7.50 per person one way.
In all a good cheap no frills place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the communal bathrooms on each floor so that you are not disturbed by peopl...

We stayed in room 304 - with a queen bed and a private bathroom. We paid 120$ with taxes for a Saturday night to stay in the heart of Vancouver. We were minutes away from the West End, Granville Island, Kitsilano and downtown. The room was on the smaller side, but had really cute heritage features - original closets and glass door knobs.

The breakfast we had, which is included, was a multigrain bagel, tea, coffee, an orange and some juice.

The staff was super nice and our bathroom was clean.

The hotel was absolutely silent when we were there, as well.

I'll definitely stay there again, especially considering other hotels in the area can be twice the price for a bunch of flashy decorating.

Room Tip: The men's washroom and shower is on the 3rd floor, the women's on the second. I'd spend...

This must be the most inexpensive hotel in Vancouver. Situated centrally it is within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops and ferry port (not with suitcases), less than 10cad by taxi.
This hotel is clean, comfortable and friendly, staff were very helpful. It would be more expensive if the rooms were en suite, but we never had to wait for shower or toilet, sink in room was handy.
Continental breakfast was good, although seating area was limited.
Rooms are quite compact and beds small for doubles.
There is a good restaurant and bar next door.
Overall you get what you pay for and this was fine for a 3 night stop before our cruise.

Found via Trip Advisor. went for the 3/4 bed with shared bath. Room is VERY basic, no TV, no Clock, No Radio. Very small room, Breakfast was Bagel or Toast, a couple segments of Orange and Coffee or Tea. Was centrally located in the Downtown area and lots of things to do around. Room clean, but furnishings a bit on the shabby side. My room faced the huge construction pit out my window. I was up early enough tha construction hadn't started yet. Bed very comfortable, linens really nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
