From late September to early June, if you happen to be in Vancouver, check to find out if VSO has a concert at the Orpheum.

The hall is one of the restored old-time vaudeville show houses of North America from the 1920's and It is worthwhile to try it. It is a huge hall with a capacity of nearly 2,800 people and you can almost always find good seats even on the day of performance, unless it is a concert with a big name artist.

The hall is located in downtown Vancouver and reachable on foot in less than ten minutes from most downtown hotels.

Acoustically, the best spot is the very last row of the hall on the balcony. Of course, those seats are the lowest priced.

Attended a symphony concert at the Orpheum, and was delighted with the wonderful acoustics. I felt I could hear every note with total clarity, and, seated in the fourth row. had a wonderful view of everything. I was late buying my ticket and was really thrilled with my center seat. The venue is heavily and beautifully ornamented, and it looks freshly gilded and renovated. There were plenty of intermission comestible options, and enough room to stroll around and stretch one's legs. I'll happily return.

Excellent place for a concert, sound is excellent and the decor is very classy. One of my favorite concerts played there.

Great acoustics, I saw 2 shows here. Has a real dated feel to it. In good company you forget about it. These are not complaints just observations and should not stop you from visiting.

We had inexpensive seats, but there really wasn't a bad seat in the house, the way it's set up. This is a LARGE space and it seemed a bit confusing - there were so many levels and stairs, with plenty of bars to get refreshments (drinks not allowed inside) I think the view from the Balconies is terrific.
