We booked 6 nights at the English Bay Inn based on other reviews on TripAdvisor for our vacation in Vancouver. We are more used to staying in hotels (and had just come from a resort in Whistler) and at first wasn't sure what to make of this fancy Victorian b&b. We came to love the place. The room was comfortable (we had the top level suite), and the bed was nice and soft. What we really appreciated was the friendliness and graciousness of owner Boban and manager Greg, who were very accommodating. Kudos especially to Greg who prepared our breakfast for 4 mornings, including Eggs Benedict and bagels and cream cheese on our last morning there! The breakfasts were served at a large table with the other guests present, and each morning there was friendly and animated discussion between the guests. As for the location - wow, everything desirable was about 2 blocks away - this Inn is in a great spot. There was the beach on the west- wonderful sandy beach filled with people and swimmers, ideal for long walks morning or night. Also near was Stanley Park, the number one attraction in Vancouver; this was a great site for walking and biking and eating (don't miss the Fish House restaurant.) And there was nearby Denman St, which had all the restaurants you could possibly want (plus ATM machines, bike rentals, ice cream and yogurt, misc. stores, and even a Safeway!) All in all, the B&B was in a great neighborhood. (By the way, regarding value, parking is free here, where many hotels charge per night.)

My family and I made our first trip to Vancouver in summer 2010. We stayed at the English Bay Inn and absolutely LOVED IT. I'm not one for clichés, but it truly was our home away from home. That's pretty much why we came back to this inn, the second time around (summer 2011). The manager is very hospitable, accommodating, and incredibly easy to talk to and get along with. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming, especially after a long day out in the city. The food is delectably delicious and filling. We looked forward to breakfast every morning, and it is probably the only reason why we woke up as early as we did.

All in all, it was a great stay! We had a wonderful time through and through, from "home" to the outskirts of the city. Next time we come back, we'll definitely be staying here again; and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who's looking for a great stay in Vancouver :)

We spent a week at English Bay Inn in June 2011. The inn is located in a peaceful location right next to Stanley Park and in walking distance to shops and restaurants. We walked throughout our stay there. Our host Greg was perfectly gracious and entertaining, provided us with any information we needed and prepared the most excellent breakfasts. He played a significant role in helping us feel very much at home there. Thanks, Greg.

The location is two blocks from Denmans shops and restaurants, same to the bay and Stanley Park. The house is beautiful inside and out and Greg was a gem. We stayed in room #4 which isn't big but it was sumptuous . I fear that land gaurs in the area may cause this jewel to disappear before too long so don't hesitate if you are thinking about going.

When we arrived, our room was not available so we were upgraded to better room. Stayed in Room #5 which had a lower sitting room w/ TV and stairway to an upstairs bedroom, bath & fireplace. We could not get the wifi to work, but the hosts offered the use of their computer & printer to us. They were also very helpful in giving us directions & recommendations. There are many restaurants in easy walking distance. The parking is in the rear of the inn, and there are 3 stalls for use by the guests at no charge. When entering from rear of the building, the staircase is very narrow. Breakfast started with coffee/tea/juice and a muffin. Fresh fruit followed and then a spinach & feta stuffed philo pastry.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Engllsh Bay Inn. It is in a great location within two blocks of Stanley Park to the north, English Bay to the west, and the Denman Street shopping district to the south. It is nestled among residential highrises, and the entire area has a "neighborhood" feel.

The manager Mike was amazing, always available either on site or by phone. He provided advice, made reservations when necessary, and prepared elegant and tasty breakfasts. I would certainly stay again should my travels take me back to Vancouver.
