“Less expensive and short walk to downtown”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Good stay before or after Alaska cruise. About 10 blocks west to the bustling city center and in area with many good ethnic restaurants with better prices. Also about 10 blocks to cruise port.
The hotel is clean and in safe area with many foreign tourists and condo residents. Hop on hop off bus stop at the front and trolley hop on hop off about 2.5 blocks away. It has decent firm beds and decent bathroom. No restaurant on site but there are many nearby. Frequent city buses stop at the hotel block and at the downtown you can catch Sky train to International air port. People come to area on Fri, Sat and Sunday night until at least midnight.

Room Tip: Taxi from cruise port about $10. A bit far by walking esp. when you have heavy luggage. There are pl...

The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location (the cost isn't too shabby either) in downtown Vancouver. Cafes, pubs and shopping are all within walking distance. I was thrilled to find a WholeFoods market a few short blocks away. My room was adequate - nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about either. It was on the 36th floor, so I had a fantastic view. They have smoking and non-smoking rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor.

Stayed here in early September. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location perfect for walking around downtown, Stanley Park and the waterfront. Room was spacious and very clean. Overall, a perfect stay in all respects

This Hotel was in a great location. We stayed here twice on our recent holiday. prior to our cruise and one night after our cruise. It was clean and the view was fantastic. But yes it is old and needs a revamp. Also found the rooms very noisy. Our first room had a towel in the fridge because the fridge was lecking and we heard a drip drip drip all night. And the aircondtioning was noisy. The last night we stayed there after our Cruise we had a deluxe room in an internal door to the next door room which made it very noisy. We could here everything that was going on next door.Got very little sleep on both occasions.(Both prior and after our cruise)

Room Tip: Don't get a deluxe room with an internal door to the next door room. It makes the wall very thin...

Our view was outstanding in the upper story. Although plain and clean, this room served our purpose as an overnight stay before a cruise. Utilitarian with a great shower water pressure.Nothing fancy but we didn't care. Within walking distance to many dining choices. (Joe Forte was ours.)

The was a nice stop for 1 night after our cruise it was a place to get reorganized after 2 hours finding luggage and the line for a cab took forever. Set back and relax, was able to clean a few clothes.  Traveled with elder parents service was great, got to our room early.
Thank god

It would be better if the hotel had a upgrade to room just stuffy.

i think that this hotel is great but it needs some renos its very old and weathered needs some serious renos for sure . the value u recieve isnt what i would have expected from DT vancouver . i excpected better than what i recieved for the price . someone should look into this for the future . all other hotels are same high priced but low to moderate quality in the expreience . the room was in need of some serious upgrading and TLC . i would recomend this hotel but a different room . and the beds need to be upgraded as well very hard and not very comfortable . someone needs to spend the extra money on a better quality bed for sure . thanks shawn
