We were completely overwhelmed by the excellence of this hotel. From the front desk welcome to a superb dining experience, our stay couldn't have been better. The staff was friendly and accommodating and we appreciated the call from the manager thanking us for our business. We will definitely be back!

The family stayed one night and enjoyed it.
We had a gift certificate and were trying the reservation number to make reservations at 8am on a weekday, and the phone just rang endlessly. I called the hotel directly and they kept transferring me to the reservation line that went to someone's personal voice mail. After trying 3 times, i called the hotel and told them of my frustrations and shock that there was no one answering the toll free reservation line, as for a hotel chain like the Holiday Inn, you would think some one would be interested in taking reservations. Anyway, the hotel staff booked me in and offered the free upgrade for the inconveniece.

It was a pleasant surprise on check in to be offered complimentary breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience too!
The rooms were nice with amazing views. We did some holiday shopping, with major stores close by. There are so many restaurants to choose from too.

We used the pool/exercise room and enjoyed that too. Wish they had a hot tub though.

All in all, a very nice stay.
We didn't have a car so didn't have to pay the $18 for car parking.
The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. The servers were ready to help.
We would stay here again, given the opportunity.

Room Tip: Top floors with views of the English Bay

This hotel is situated very near Vancouver General Hospital so we booked it when we had to have a procedure done there recently. The front desk and lobby are clean and welcoming. We were greeted immediately and our reservation was found quickly and efficiently. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It has been recently up-dated and was very nicely decorated. The bathroom is also clean, up-dated and very nice.
The room was quiet with only minimal road noise during the night. I would definitely stay there again.

Dear Linda H,

Merry Christmas! Thank you for staying with us. We are glad to hear you had an enjoyable stay. As you mentioned, our hotel just had a $12M renovation, completed in October, 2012. Everything in the guest rooms and public areas are completely redone. We are also happy to hear that you liked our decor. If there is anything that we can do to make you rate us 5/5 in the future, please do not hesitate to let us know, as your comments are very valuable to us.

Happy Holidays,

I was looking for an inexpensive hotel near Vancouver General Hospital. I got a great rate at Holiday Inn, and figured 3 stars probably makes it at least clean.
Wow, what a surprise! This place is not only clean, but newly renovated and kinda swanky for a 3 star hotel.
My room on the 15th floor (standard room) had a great view of false creek and downtown. Bathroom was clean and modern. Bed very comfy.
The buffet for breakfast is $12.95 and includes coffee/tea, eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, cereal, fruit, toast, packaged pastries, yogurt. It was decent (not fantastic, but decent).
Indoor pool was basic (for doing laps, not for playing) but clean and modern.
Staff were very friendly.
I would highly recommend this hotel for an inexpensive (but very comfortable) stay in this part of vancouver.

My wife and I enjoyed this hotel. The renovated room looked very much like a Westin hotel room except with a smaller bathroom. We had a room on an upper floor, west side of the hotel and the view out to the ocean and western islands off the coast of Vancouver was absolutely awesome.

Service was fine and I particularly liked the refurbished (new) elevators with some great technical gadgetry.

The area of Vancouver the hotel is located in is exceptional. Close to downtown. But what is most remarkable is the amazing array of great restaurants, coffee shops, pubs to choose from in very close proximity, including our favourite- The Banana Leaf, a Malaysian restaurant just steps away.

Great service from all staff, great parking deck, wonderful room, pretty good breakfast options (although buffet doesn't vary so it can be a little repetitive), great view. This hotel is a strong contender for my return visit in January.

But the wired and wireless internet is awful and unreliable. There's a different wireless network per quadrant on the floor, so if you connect to wifi in the lobby, you have to select a different network once you get to your room. And it's not just selecting a network; you have to make a confirmation via the browser. And your session drops without warning; even if you're wired!

Room Tip: Try for a higher floor, 12th or higher, for the better view.

Dear ccopello,

Thank you for choosing the Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre and for taking the time to write about your experience.

We are honoured to hear you enjoyed our great service from all staff as well as our newly renovated hotel.

We are sorry to hear that you had internet connection issues during your stay. In order to divert traffic, we setup wireless routers in different locations to cover the entire hotel.
I believe you will be glad to hear that we are currently working on developing a better network with higher internet speed with our internet provider and our management company.

I look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in January.
