“Great service and room”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

I stayed at the Georgian Court for five nights when I was attending a conference in Vancouver. The staff were very helpful and responsive. My room was large and very clean and well maintained. Only complaint was that service was slow at breakfast a number of mornings during peak times. It seemed rather understaffed. Food was fine. I had the buffet and there was a reasonable selection. Overall would recommend.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The service very friendly and helpful. You are within walking distance of shopping for most people. Restaurants (not fasts food) are a bit harder to find on a walk. Over all I loved the place and would return and stay there.

My grandson was celebrating his 13th birthday with a trip into Vancouver and a Whitecap's game. We were right across the street from the stadium, and the next morning he had the buffet breakfast. He figures he has a great year ahead of him!

We spent one night at this hotel. Modern, clean and comfortable. The hotel has a reasonably priced Italian estaurant. One suggestion is that they have coffee in the lobby for the morning crowd.

We had just arrived into Vancouver on the Rocky Mountaineer. This is one of the hotels where they delivered our luggage to the room and coached us over to the hotel. They do not do this for all hotels in Vancouver. In addition Pacific Coach, the bus-ferry line to Victoria and Whistler, will pick up at this hotel

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel, the rooms comfortable and were quiet. It's location meant it was a 15 minute walk to Gas Town which is OK when you are going out for dinner but we got a taxi back. Breakfast was OK but I felt the dinning room needed updating.

We were in Vancouver for one night only for a concert and booked this place because it was only a few minutes walk to the venue.

We arrived early afternoon and were pleasantly surprised that we could check-in right away. Our room was on the top floor (12) and we had a basic queen (or maybe it was a king) room. We had a partial mountain view, but it mainly looked out the CBC building roof. No big deal. We didn't book a room for a view, but for a quiet night's rest, and that's what we got.

The room itself was average size, with a comfy two-seater sofa, a mini-fridge, coffee set-up, and even a robe (two would've been nice). The bed was also very comfortable and I slept well on it.

As other reviewers have said, the room was "women-friendly" with Aveda products including bath salts, and make-up remover, plus a full-size hairdryer, a flat iron, and curling iron. In the closet was a plastic shoe-box with panty hose, some tampons, band-aids, sewing kit, and a few other niceties. I commend the hotel on having a women-only floor, something that has become trendy in the international business hotel market.

That said, there are a few disappointments. The decor is showing it's age, especially in the bathrooms. They looked like they were from the 80's. The worst offender was the filthy electric socket wall plate where you plug in the hairdryer. It was pretty gross. I'm not a germophobe, but I would expect a hotel that labels itself as "luxury" to not overlook such an easy fix. The last thing is the bathroom, um, "acoustics." I heard our neighbors checking into their room and the woman exclaiming her excitement over the bathroom products and the man's response (he didn't care so much), and then their entire conversation about what they were going to do the rest of the day. They clearly weren't shouting or being loud. It was just how the venting acoustics. So, if you want privacy in your room, close the bathroom door! If you're shy about your bathroom "noises" or don't want to hear your neighbors' you're outta luck :)

Wifi was free and fast. No issues!

I would stay here again, but maybe if the price were a bit lower since it doesn't seem to match the quality of the room.

Do not be put off that this hotel is by the football stadium, you would never know it is there. The recetionist was very helpful when we checked in (our bags had arrived before us from the Rocky Mountineer). He showed us the map and good areas to eat and site see.

Our room was really comforable with a lovely bathroom.

We stayed for 2 nights and chose to go out for breakfast, which there are plenty of places within a short walk. We did not try the restaurant so cannot comment on the food.

The hotel was easy walking for all locations.
