“Nice old hotel, too far from downtown”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

Stayed here for a business trip. The hotel is nice, well preserved and the maid service is excellent. Front office staff professional but not very friendly. Basically a good place to stay if you're going to the game, but not if you want to shop on Granville.

Room Tip: It's a quiet part of town so probably doesn't matter. The street side might be loud on game...

Really nice boutique hotel, great location. Vancouver is an easy city to get around, on the advise of the hotel staff we hopped on the Big Bus to tour the city (they arranged a discount for us). Good security, your room key also operates the lifts in the hotel. Very luxurious rooms, very large and comfy beds. A lot of construction going on right beside the hotel, but did not cause any untoward noise or disruption. They agreed to keep our bags in storage for the day afte checking out so we could do some sightseeing prior to picking up our hire car and heading ur of the city. Staff were extremely helpful. Would recommend!

I have stayed here with a friend several times. The one bedroom suite is useful for us, since we are both snorers. However, the unlucky one who gets the sofa bed usually has less than a good night's sleep. As well, twice during stays we have had to get a staff person to pull the sofa bed down for us and even they had trouble with it. The deck off our suite was not very celan on any of our stays. They really should have the city soot scrubbed off more than once a year. The staff are nice. The location is good...although a little hike from the centre. Close to the Queen E theatre and the stadiums however. The included breakfast was fine; newspapers are available; for a pool etc. though, you have to go to another building. That's not much fun on a cold wet day. Street noise is not bad after midnight. There are street people but in Vancouver, street people are everywhere. Just tune them out. This is an okay place. They offer good off season deals. It is very clean. The decor is a little dated. The bathroom is very small in the one bedroom suites. Good thing the vanity is in the bedroom. I would stay here again if they had a good price on offer. For luxury, however, I would probably go elsewhere. I haven't taken my dog there, but I understand they are pet friendly

this hotel opened my eyes to the concept of small luxury hotels, and it was fantastic! the rooms were very clean & spacious, the beds were super comfy, and there were more than enough towels & pillows in the room. the chocolates were a nice touch as well. the room was a bit pricey but I thought it was well worth it. it is located just very slightly off downtown, which ensured us a good night's sleep. the staff were friendly & helpful, from the front desk staff to the servers in the restaurant for breakfast the next day.
I would definitely recommend georgian court!

Our family booked us a room at the Georgian Court as part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations. Our room on the top floor was stunning, with equally impressive views of BC Place Stadium and Vancouver. There were so many nice touches such as chocolates, comfy robes, magazines and abundant toiletries. The room was so nice that we almost wanted to stay in and skip the dinner that had been booked for us! The location is also fantastic.

We stayed in the Georgian Court last November, after which I posted a review here.

One of the many things we liked was the feel of the bedding. Since our stay my wife has been in touch with housekeeping about purchasing sheets and pillowcases. The head of housekeeping (Elizabeth) has been most accommodating, keeping in touch to let us know when they would be buying more. Others in housekeeping helped us when she was not available.

It worked out well, coinciding with our summer visit to Whistler, after which we passed through Vancouver and stopped by the Georgian Court to make the purchase. Elizabeth had the linens waiting for us, new and wrapped in ribbon. Once home, my wife decided that we should get two additional pillow cases. Elizabeth is putting these in the mail for us.

This kind of service is truly rare these days. I can't imagine getting this kind of attention and effort post-stay at most hotels, which often seem to have cut back on staffing and amenities. Undoubtedly this speaks not only to the character of the individuals, but to the attitudes of management about working with their customers. Thank you so much! We will be back.

This hotel has both good and bad points:
Positives- very helpful friendly reception staff, free bike hire, good location if you want the stadium and city facilities.
Negatives- smallest room during our 4 week tour of USA/Canada, very noisy building site outside window that started at 7.30am every morning ( not out of ground yet so will be on going for a while), very noisy aircon ( my washer quieter on spin cycle).
Had an evening meal in Frankies it was very good and compared with Vancouver prices reasonable.
Would I stay heere again? No
