“Beyond Expectation, Excellent Location and rooms.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2009

Read all low-rate comments here before the trip, but in deed our experience is way above 4-star.
We stayed three nights before and after a week trip to the Canadian Rockies, so we saw different rooms. Both are good, new, well-planned. First room was facing west, several floors above the A/C and fans, but it's okay. There is a partitioned sleeping area, dark and quiet, even has a second TV set. If you're on a business trip, you can call it a suite, because the rest area is big enough to work and meet someone. The second room was simpler, the LCD TV is in the centre to separate the sleeping and living area, but you can turn the TV 270 degrees. The only problem is all the room is facing north, where the people in the elevator to the UFO building (don't know the exact name) would see you if you don't cover yourself.
Underground parking can also be accessed from the third floor of the Hotel using your card. One reminder is if you drive, you should go through the entrance on the Seymour Street, not their official address on West Hastings.
We'll definitely go back there in the future if we can get a good price.

This is a wonderful hotel, the service was incredible. The location was great. I only have wonderful things to say. From the time we arrived to the time we left everyone did everything to please us. We had also stayed at this hotel earlier in the week and again just wonderful.

Hotel is excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. We were certainly made feel special. Some lovely touches e.g. newspaper delivered every morning to our room. Location is ok just round the corner from Gastown and Canada Place. Vancouver is a great city to walk around in. Just a wee word of warning - hotel is on West Hastings. Dont stray too far along towards East Hastings though. The only slight downsides to the hotel was no swimming pool and the bar closed very early. Other than that this hotel is well worth a stay.

pro: bargin, location
con: no free internet in room, u get free internet in lobby though. no free breakfast.
I stayed 8/2009 for a conference held at waterfront conference center. I got a standard suite room for $100/night through cheaptickets. Other hotels like fairmont and panpacific cost around $250/night. Basically, for $100, it is the best bang for buck hotel. Rooms are clean, roomy, and the location is realistically 15 min walk from hotel room to front door of conference center.
1.5 blocks away is the skytrain. across the street is a thirfty car rental. Main hastings st bus stop is right in front of hotel.

We were thrilled with the hotel. Very friendly staff, they always remembered our name.

Right across the street was the observation tower. Next to it was a bus/ferry terminal to ferry you across to North Vancouver. A block over from there was a terminal for the sky train. The sky train can take you directly to the hands on science museum at a low price . The hotel was close to great shopping and great restaurant/bars.

It was also just blocks away from beggars and a rather dirty part of town, so make sure you ask directions before leaving the hotel if that sort of stuff bothers you.

Food court across the street offers great food at good prices as well as a liquor store with reasonable prices.

All in all a great hotel with incredible staff! Feel free to contact me if you need any more information.

Hotel is located a 5 min stroll from Gastown and the waterfront. Right where you want to be. Staff were very helpful and friendly from the check in staff to the lovely lady that cleaned our room. Room was good, separate bedroom which was nice as there was three of us. A 5 min walk from the aeroporter bus link (despite what the ladies at the aeroportor desk told me!!). Air Canada, Westjet, Northwest check in terminal in the hotel lobby.
