Room was hot like a furnace. Air conditioner initially did not work; front panel was missing and the knob was difficult to reach. Internet was worse than average. Front desk staff was very rude, repeatedly asked if I understand what he said… Paid the fines and switched to another place. I will not stay at this place again.

It was like living there with hotel rooms with a full kitchen and living room. Super clean with good amenities - pool, gym, restaurant. In a great part of the city. Alternative to the downtown hubub.
A great find.

Room Tip: The higher floor the better view.

Great location for us as we had family not too far away. A little noisy at times but not too bad. Had a great view of the downtown area as we stayed on the tenth floor. Service was great and staff was very friendly. Even when my lost luggage arrived they had put it away safe and sound. All in all I would stay there again.

Last year we unknowingly booked a hotel on the waterfront during the fireworks competition. This year (8-15 to 8-19) we decided to return & enjoy a few sites we missed. We thought we can't possibly go wrong staying downtown. I have to agree with several other reviews - BIG disappointment! Our room was 1701 and it sounded like we were on the ground floor. No one bothered to warn us that there was a Bar/Grill/Hangout open until 3:00 or 3:30 AM right next door. Seventeenth floor was just as bad as the first floor. The place is a TIRED site. (Old heater/air conditioner units, drab window coverings in bedroom, in need of dusting, etc.) We had to ask that housekeeping make/change our bed during our stay. The pillows & linen were not fresh. We ended up buying bounce & using the washer/dryer in the room to freshen up the pillows & clean linen. So to the person they refused to move - we were on the 17th floor & it was still a huge disappointment.

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel!

I recently visited Vancouver for the Folk Festival in July 2013. The hotel was very accomodating with friendly staff and very organized for the event attendees and musicians. The room was small but clean, comfortable bed and linens, and there was a good size refrigerator for our yummy, healthy food that we travel with. The shuttle service was free, to and from the hotel and made the whole experience more enjoyable. Vancouver is a favorite city of mine and it proved to be as beautiful as ever this time.

We stayed here last year and gave this place a 4# rating and nothing much has changed really, but that is the main point. There is noting really wrong with the place but the rooms are a little tired, the aircon is noisy and is located in the living area, not the bedroom where you need it and it's loud as a pneumatic drill. The lifts are small and there are not enough of the bearing in mind how high the hotel is. The room was a little quieter this time as it did not back onto the lifts.

On the plus side, the location is great and the staff very helpful.

This hotel is made of 'paper'. It is single glazed and you can hear all the noise from the street below on the 7th floor. The view from our room was a concrete jungle and when we left the hotel via the main reception doors there were two sex shops opposite. Staff refused to move us when we couldn't sleep because of the noise and we checked out the next morning.

I am very sorry that our staff was not able to accommodate your room change at the time of your request. Our hotel has been sold out for most nights in August and we may not have the same room type available for you immediately. Being a downtown hotel the lower floors have more restricted view, but if you had chosen to book our high floor view suites the view is really quite spectacular, as some of the other TripAdvisor members have commented on.

If we may have the pleasure of your visit again, please contact me at gm_davie@sandman.ca and I will ensure we select a suitable room for you.
