We had our hotel changed from our original tour hotel we had picked pre tour. Upon arrival we were a little worried what we would walk into. The guy at the desk was very helpful and put us in a corner suite upon request for somewhere quiet. Great location the suites have everything you need was great to have somewhere to wash your clothes without leaving the hotel. Great places to eat locally and independant grocers shop was fantastic. Bus stops just out the front. Would stay again in a suite.

Lots to choose from in Vancouver but you cannot go too far wrong with this one. Room was clean, staff was friendly and location has lots to offer. For those first time visitors to the city, I recommend getting a hot dog to snack on when walking around downtown. yumm.

A reasonably priced and comfortable hotel in which to base your stay, The staff were helpful especially the breakfast staff. The qualityis good enough when you accept that you will be spending very little time there. The city, the beach, the mountains, the Islands - everything is just incredible. A must visit location.

We startet our West- Canada- Roundtrip in Vancouver and stayed for 2 nights at the Sandman Suites. Our room was located on the 6. floor...not such a great view, but, as we weren´t planning to stay in the hotel room the whole time, still ok. The room was clean and the bedroom was seperated from the living room/ kitchenette. The hotel itselve is an old building and a bit clairaudient- but near everything you want to see in Vancover (Granville Island, Stanley Park, China Town (35min walk), etc.). The personnel was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunatly the breakfast is very moderate and the parking with $18,75 plus tax $3,94very expencive.

I love the area and this is why I chose the hotel. I love to run on the seawall and to be in walking distance of everything from great restaurants to shopping, to Granville Island - False Creek Ferry only a five minute walk.

I got a suite with full kitchen and a small balcony facing the city, which was awesome even though I didn't require use of the kitchenette, it was on the 15th floor, corner unit and was nice and bright.

I rate this property only a four because I have never been impressed with cleanliness at any Sandman properties. I am a bit more on the picky side - I don't think you need to be at a super high end expensive property to have a super clean room - this Sandman was a bit cleaner than most but still left room for improvement.

Time for a new bed in that particular suite, mattress reminded me of a well-used truck stop motel but only one night doesn't matter as much.

Service at this hotel is better than any other Sandman I have ever stayed at. All the properties could take some cues from their front desk staff and their housekeeping staff, very accommodating and very friendly from check-in to getting more coffee, to a "hello" on your way through the lobby, to checking out.

Room Tip: corner, kitchen suite top floors, city view

Booked into this location for 9 days, however after only 2 nights I booked into another hotel. Even on the 22nd floor the noise from below is too much. Rooms are a little dated from online photos. Only positive is the fitness Centre.

We just returned from staying at the Sandman Suites on Davie street. We had 8 guys coming over for a bachelor party, and rented a few rooms here to stay. The hotel is somewhat close to english bay, but its a good walk from the main downtown area, gastown, or if you were going to a canucks game etc... The main reason we stayed here is because they have a good sized penthouse that you can book - although you wont find much info on it online. You need to call the actual hotel itself (not just the main reservation number... but the actual hotel). The penthouse is called the cosmopolitan suite, and is on the top floor, has one giant king round bed, a massive washroom, and a good sized open concept living area with a full kitchen. There are also two patios that overlook english bay.... great views. Renting this gave us somewhere to all hang out and have some beers before going out - and somewhere unique for the bachelor to stay / sleep.

We also rented 2 basic rooms. They are kind of odd because they only hold 3 people max... not 4... there are two single beds and one pullout couch. They are fine - nothing spectacular. But very functional.

Parking is underground at $18 or $19 per night. It's never cheap to park downtown vancouver though. What is nice... is they reserve the very top area of the parking for pickup trucks - which we had... sure makes life a lot easier when you dont have to worry about being to tall to fit or getting around those tight parkade corners.

All in all - we had a good stay. I usually prefer staying a little closer downtown - but for what we needed on this trip - it was a good spot for us as an affordable option.
