“Return for the third time”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

We returned to this hotel for the third time and are still impressed with the service supplied. The staff are always courteous and helpful. Nothing it too much trouble and they are always ready to find out information if needed. The rooms are clean and there are all the things needed for a long stay like ours, which was for three weeks. We were on the higher floors and this meant it was not too noisy at night. We must congratulate the reception staff for their helpfulness. The hotel is so well placed for all types of shops and restaurants. Well done Sandman

Rooms are spacious rooms lounge, separate lounge/dining with a fridge and cooking facilities and a balcony.
We stayed on a higher floor which is quiet normally. However the day we stayed was the Gay Pride parade and there were lots of people and parties outside.
Good location with lots of restaurants. The supermarket was a few doors across the street.
Free Wi-Fi
This is good hotel if you love to go out party and good dining. May not be suitable for families with kids.

Room Tip: Select a room on a higher floor with a balcony.

I read the other reviews and was a bit concerned about the hotel, concerns which were unfounded. The neighborhood is great- tons of restaurants, bars, very walkable. There is a club next door so if you are going only for business, you may not want to sleep on a lower floor that faces that club on a weekend. I should say that I was on the 7th floor and I could hear a few things on Friday/Saturday night but nothing that I am unaccustomed to hearing in a city on weekend nights. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and I even was able to get into my room early. The thing that sets it apart is that every room has full kitchen with fridge and oven (with dishes, utensils, can openers etc), washer/dryer and balcony. When I saw the full setup, I immediately walked to a grocery store and wine store and bought wine, cheese, bread (there is a bakery and a fruit store 2 doors down) and a few other things that helped keep costs down for the times I was not going out to eat.

I would highly recommend for anyone who wants to go explore the lovely city of vancouver, and who doesn't mind fun restaurants, bars and other nightlife surrounding you.

nice hotel, fantastic and friendly staff, very helpful. Rooms nice and clean. good location for Stanley Park. easy transport to Downtown. lots of restaurants walking distance to hotel. the only downside i would say is that if your staying over the weekend choose a room on the upper floor so not to hear the street noise

Room Tip: the higher floors have less street noise. nice sea view if not raining

Our daughter received the phone call that she had a kidney waiting and my husband and I rushed over to be with her. We booked the first night through hotels.com and it was a decent rate. We phoned the hotel and they did not have a suite with a double bed just twin beds. Through hotels.com we were able to get a queen suite. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised that the room though small had a separate bedroom and a kitchen/living are complete with full fridge/stove/dishwasher and tucked in the closet was a washer/dryer combo. The room we ended up with the first night had a bed that was tilted so most of the night I was rolling to my husbands side of the bed. Oh..I should mention there was a pull out couch bed in in the living area. When we knew we were staying longer we asked to be changed to a different room with due to the bed issue. They moved us to a room with a king bed and a magnificent view of the water. In total we stayed 8 nights. They also gave us the medical rate for people staying there for hospital reasons. There was complimentary newspapers/umbrellas and we were located a 5 min walk from hospital. I suggest using the Thurlow entrance as it cuts off a much walking. Many great restaurants near by and a Shopper's Drug Mart across the street made for a very easy stay. I would stay there again in a heart beat. The staff was helpful and kind. The only downside, if you can even call it that, is that the room is on the smaller side so I would not say there with more than 3 people for any length of time. I cannot comment on the parking as we did not bring our vehicle. With all restaurants and stores near by a car was not needed. Thank you SandMan Suites to for making this trip easier and the accommodations effortless.

Room Tip: If you need to be near St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver this is a great place to stay.

We were very surprised of this hotel. We had a great suite on the 23rd floor with a great view. The suite is very well equipped even with dish washer and washing machine. Everything was very clean and comfortable. In the business center you can checkin for Air Canada flights for free.GREAT HOTEL!
