Stayed here enroute to a cruise. It's pretty close to the cruise ship piers and very well located in a nice neighborhood in one of the nice parts of Vancouver. Its a small, somewhat non-nondescript hotel in general, but the suites are great as everyone says. Makes a great home base for families, or for extended stays. Definitely highly recommend it. Nice gourmet food store right across the street so you can utilize the kitchen.

Me and my girlfriend recently stayed at Carmana Plaza in Aug/09. The check in process was very easy, the front desk staff were very helpful with all of our requests.

We were staying in the carmana rooms, on the 31st floor. For 220 dollars a night, you CANNOT go wrong staying here. It was much nicer than I expected. The room does not feel like a hotel at all. It feels like you are staying in someonses very nicely appointed condo. When you walked in the room it has a spacious front entrance with marble tiles and a closet. The whole room was very new and clean, the windows allowed for amazing views all day. The room had a 42" lcd with 5.1 surrond system, which came in very handy for listening to music. The living room also had a nice glass table for eating. The kitchen had everything you could want for cooking. The room decor is very modern and nice to look at, much better than stuffy 'retro' hotel rooms like fairmont. The balcony had the most amazing view I have ever had in a hotel room.

The bedroom was well appointed, with a comfy bed, lcd tv mounted on the bedroom wall and ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was average, it was very clean and new so I cannot complain.

The location could not have been any better, you are close to everything you would want to go and see. Bars, Restaurants, Shopping, Stanley Park are all walking distance. In fact, we only took 1 cab the entire trip.

I do not have pictures of the suite, but if you google vancouver serviced apartments carmana plaza you will find pics of the rooms.

I would highly recommend Carmana Plaza to anyone, I will definitley return!

We had a really short visit to Carmana Plaza, arriving at 1am and departing in the morning. However, we found our suite to be very pleasant -- clean, large, comfortable. The desk staff were helpful. The location is very central. Overall, it was a great value and a good choice for us. I would certainly stay here again, especially if travelling for a longer time and we could make use of the kitchen facilities.

This hotel had a reasonably priced two bedroom, two bath suite with an enclosed balcony with seating, a view of the mountains, a combined living room and dining room area and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a laundromat with 12 washers and dryers as well as an exercise room on the 3rd floor. The hotel is in the main downtown shopping center, two blocks from most major public transportation lines, walking distance to many attractions, and most importantly, right across from one of the most upscale urban markets we have seen anywhere, called "Urban Fare." The hotel also provides free coffee, tea and bottles of water. The downside is that there is no food within the hotel and all of the help is first generation Asian, do not speak English well, and do not know the city very well, so if you are first-time tourist you are pretty much on your own. Also there is no basic information about the hotel in the room, so you don't find out until you're checking out, for example, that local calls are 50 cents each, and it took us a few days to figure out that the bottled water was free and that there was a laundry room in the hotel. There is also no free wifi or other internet (it's $10 a day), so to use your laptop for free you need to head over to the Blenz coffee bar a few blocks away. In terms of the room layout, the room strangely provides an attached bathroom to the bedroom that has two twin beds. The master bedroom with a queen bed is smaller and has no attached bathroom. Those using the master bedroom must use the bathroom attached to the living room, which is the smaller of the two bathrooms. Notwithstanding these oddities, we enjoyed this hotel experience.

We had been loyal Blue Horizon customers for a long time, however after staying at the Carmana Plaza for a night before taking an Alaska cruise, I think I can safely say we now have a new place to call home when traveling to Vancouver, BC. Blue Horizon is still a great hotel/value, however Carmana Plaza ups the ante a bit.

Excellent accommodations, location and service bundled into a great value. One block off Robson Street provides easy access, while allowing the hotel to be on a quieter street -- best of both worlds. Right across from a nice market and a couple doors down from a Wendy's/Tim Horton's.
