“Great location, quality rooms!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Extremely clean, solid breakfast, comfort at its best. The hotel is newly renovated, and has a friendly staff willing to accommodate needs. The rooms were large and very comfortable. Perfect for individuals or families. Prime location is close walking distance to restaurants, hop on shuttles, and local shopping. I would highly recommend!!

Room Tip: The suites have an amazing kitchen!!

Stayed there for 3 nights in July 2013, family of 4 (children 11 and 9). Location is central, we walked to Stanley Park and to restaurants and stores. Other locations such as Science Fair, Grouse Mountain were easy to access by car. Parking is right below the hotel, really easy to go in and out. We had a studio room with kitchenette, our room (and the whole hotel) felt like it had been renovated very recently. Kitchenette has micro-wave, fridge, stove, only complaint was that there was sitting room for 2 only. Beds were comfortable, wifi access very good. The hotel even offers grocery delivery but we didn't use it.

Pool size wasn't bad for a hotel in central location (we have seen much smaller ones) and our kids loved it. We used the gym facility, cardio machines all have a TV monitor.

The breakfast was ok with lots of choice, but sometimes the lineup got long. They even had snacks in the evening 2 of the 3 nights we were there.

I stayed at this hotel with my kids aged 11 and 13 for a week. We found it to be the perfect spot -- refreshingly updated decor and relaxing vibe, spacious and comfortable room, great location and very helpful staff.

The hotel clearly is designed to make you feel that you're in a home away from home. They offer a grocery pick up service to stock your fridge, have tea and coffee available, convenient laundry, easy parking and exceptionally good, free wifi. The buffet breakfast is included which is great -- my only comment would be that the food was plentiful, and varied, but some of the choices were barely edible (eggs and chicken sausages were awful). Also, the service is inadequate -- huge line ups at peak times because the tables are not cleared off efficiently.

The pool is ordinary, but is certainly nice to have for the kids.

The location is very convenient and safe - lots of shopping and restaurants nearby, and easy access to the Sky Train and water taxi to Granville Island. I'd definitely stay in a Residence Inn Marriott again!

Three day weekend was overall very good. Location is centrally located, close to the restraunts on Robison, area to walk in after dark was fine and felt safe. Hotel room was excellent, we had a great room with a West view of the bay, very clean, beds were extremely comfortable. Only issue was getting checked in, access with a car was completely blocked for 15 minutes or so and there is no bellhop or staff to keep traffic moving and progressing and no one to help with bags from the unloading area into the hotel. Staff at the were very helpful after you resolved this issue on your own, but working that solution wasn't easy. Once checked in, all was great.

Room Tip: The higher the room, with a balconly and a west view the better.

Thank you so much for your review. I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and the hotels services and location.

Temporary check-in parking spaces are available in the porte cochere/breezeway of the hotel located immediately to the north of the hotel entrance (turn right off Davie Street, which is a one way street). We are taking action to ensure that these spots are not blocked by others parking there for longer than their check in time.

We look forward to welcoming you back for your next getaway weekend!

I was on a 3 day vacation with my wife to Vancouver and decide to stay at this place as i was a member of the Marriott chain. The concierges was nice and warm and helped me get an upgrade. He also helped me through the local map marking off place that could be covered by us and the ones which were better of as a guided tour.

Surprisingly ,the room was quite small compared to what i have seen at some category 2 Marriott hotels, but looked clean. The room resembled a studio appointment with an open kitchen.

The Gym is pretty good and for the ones who like to make a splash there is a swimming pool as well.

Restaurants in Marriott:
Gatehouse breakfast buffet is served between 6:30-9:30, there is also a cafe at ground floor.
The buffet is unlike what is usually found at Marriott,it lacks variety to a great extent.

What other restaurants you can try while staying at Marriott:
I being an Indian choose to go to Indian Bristo (Only Mutton is Halaal) and Salaam Bombay (Non Veg in Halaal) there are others as well and people at reception can help you with these.

Best time to travel: I would say between May- July

Issues Faced:
They start clearing the breakfast from 9 Am on wards, which is questionable and uncommon to brand like Marriott the case.
I found the bed sheets to be itchy, not sure if they were clean enough.

Room Tip: Try and get a higher floor room

Thank you for your loyalty to Marriott - I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed our service and facitilites.

As a new generation Residence Inn - being a downtown highrise hotel instead of a rural apartment style building - all our suites are studios. The great advantage of course is location, and thank you so much for the great information on restuarants nearby.

Our breakfast buffet offers many upgraded items from Residence Inn standards, but as you noted, is not as full as a Restaurant buffet. The hours for breakfast are from 630am to 9am on weekdays and 7am to 930am on weekends.

I'm very sorry to hear you found the sheets itchy. Our beds are dressed with 300 threat count sheets, which are cleaned with hypo-allergenic and environmentally friendly solutions.

Once again, thank you so much for your loyalty to Marriott and taking the time to review your stay with us.

Kind Regards, Suzanne Allemeier, General Manager

This hotel has been recently refurbished and the rooms are excellent. We stayed in 902, which was on the quieter side of the hotel, away from the road. It was very comfortable and the kitchen was a bonus. The kitchen had a dishwasher, hob, microwave and utensils

I met 2 girlfriends here for our annual girls weekend. The hotel is centrally located in a perfect spot to see the city. Close to the sky train, bus stops and walking distance to Canada place, endless shopping and restaurants! I believe it was Jason who checked us in, we were early and he still was able to offer us a room. He was so helpful - I am a marriott platinum member and we stay often- he was really exceptional. Actually everyone we encountered at the front desk was excellent. They were always polite, professional and knowledgeable. The room was new and so nice! Two queen beds, full kitchen. There was a nice terrace on the 2nd floor with tables and a fire pit, we bought a bottle of wine and sat out there and enjoyed it and socialized with other guests. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, offered something for everyone. We never found it to be overcrowded. I suggest you get up a little earlier to go down earlier, that way you'll beat the last minute stragglers who come at the end and expect it to be fully stocked and devoid of others.......the staff at breakfast is also friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to others traveling to Vancouver.
