“Our preferred hotel in Vancouver”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

My husband and I have stayed at many hotels in Vancouver, but this is the one we prefer. It's close enough to Roger's Arena, Yaletown, Robson St, skytrain station, etc. Recently been renovated, and it is even nicer now. Breakfast is included, and it is delicious!

Started staying here for the location, and have stayed four times now because of the squeaky clean new rooms and awesome staff. Rooms have a classy, somewhat masculine decor (lots of wood & leather) that feels clubby and luxe. The high ceilinged lobby is gracious in a Dwell Magazine way, and has a fireplace. The kitchens take up some room, but you get a fridge and counter space in exchange. Plus, there is a super-well-thought-out selection of basic tools, so you really can cook. The Aqua-Bus at the foot of the street takes you to the Farmers Market. In addition to the great hard product is the excellent, enthusiastic staff. Always a great welcome at the desk. I made a mistake once about my room and they were polite, patient and tolerant even tough I am sure it was a headache for them. The housekeeping staff are hard working and super-friendly. If I had to identify a downside, it would be the other guests: lots of tourists, who are sometimes clueless in the elevators and surprisingly laissez faire with their young children.

loved this hotel! close to everything, helpful staff, and great breakfast. I was able to check in early and the room was superb! super comfy beds and loved the TV and kitchen, great for 1 night or 20. the only reason i didn't give it a 5 is i wish i could have had a high floor as requested. my husband and i will be returning to this hotel in September.

I travel quite often to Vancouver to visit our head office, so I've tried a LOT of Vancouver hotels. The Residence Inn is my new home-away-from-home for sure. The staff are lovely and helpful, I even got a thank you note from my housekeeper! The breakfast (included! Internet too, and decent speeds), is much better than the typical included breakfast. Eggs, sausage, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, fruit, yogurt - and things that switch every day (an extra bonus for longer stays). There's even a nice terrace you can eat on when the weather is nice. My room was great - quiet and modern. More importantly, the bed was comfy, and the shower/bathroom was big and worked well. There's a small kitchenette with a fridge/freezer (great for leftovers), microwave, stovetop, and even a coffee maker and dishwasher. Set the coffee the night before so it's brewing when you wake up! Nice big flatscreen TV, desk, and big sofa round out the room. It's not super close to the skytrain, but not a long walk to the stations, Yaledown, Granville/Robson Streets for shopping, and really close to the seawall for early morning runs (amazing!). Also close to my office, so that's a plus of course :) Already looking forward to my next stay, and not being a goldilocks searching for the "just right" Vancouver hotel anymore :)

I've stayed in many areas both in and around Vancouver, this is my first time my staying staying closer to Yaletown area. The hotel itself is very new with modern spacious rooms, great lobby area and within walking a very short walking distance to probably one of the best concentrations of restaurants, bars and nightclubs within downtown Vancouver. My stay was for business purposes, but it's fabulous location and great rooms would be great for business or vacation travelers. The kitchen area and good size fridge is a big plus. An easy location to get to whether by car or the Canada Line transit. While their is there is many entertainment and dining options nearby, this hotel is tucked away nicely on a quite street.

we went there for a weekend and booked 2 rooms. Travelling with a small child the mini kitchen was very convenient. The room was of a good size and had everything you could want.

The biggest surprise was that for a Marriott the bathroom was upgraded and the typical small marriott bat tub was taken out and replaced with a large shower. Much better.

Breakfast was a buffet and was as expected.

All in all I could not fault this hotel. Great location and everything you could want.
Our room was on the 19th Floor

This looks and feels like a brand new luxury hotel, but it is not new, and it is a Residence Inn by Marriott. They just renovated, and I was pleasantly surprised by everything from the excellent service, high quality furniture and kitchen in my suite, and the overall look and feel of the property. I have stayed with upscale brands before, and also at other Residence Inns, but this hotel reminded me of past experiences at 4 and 5 star hotels. My studio suite had a balcony with amazing views, and the location of this hotel made it easy for me to walk to all the great places that downtown is known for.
