“Clean fun new hotel!”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Stayed here on a shopping trip with my daughter and friends. The rooms were nice and very efficiently organized. The full kitchen would have been great if we'd been there for more than one night. Breakfast was quite good in the lobby. We felt safe walking as a group of 4 at night to the main shopping street. They could probably bring down the lobby lights a bit at night. Had a glass of wine with a friend at the fireplace but felt like we were in a fishbowl it was so bright.

Thanks for your comments. Funny you should mention the lobby lighting - we're currently developing lighting profiles to improve the ambiance at different times of day. Look for a difference the next time you stay!

In Vancouver last week for the Oprah Event and had the pleasure of staying at the Residence Inn on Hornby. The location is fabulous; the staff were so friendly and helpful; the breakfast choices were incredible; and the bed was what I imagine sleeping on a cloud would feel like :)

Was in Vancouver for work and having stayed in the 4 Seasons for a week - wanted somewhere with a kitchen so I didnt have to eat out every night.

Next time - I'll go straight here! New hotel so all the rooms are clean and well equipped with modern equipment. With a decent free breakfast buffet and staff that constantly went above and beyond to help out and this is a real gem in the heart of Vancouver.

We stayed here after Christmas and got a pretty decent rate (but a bit more than I usually pay). It was so worth it. The room was spacious for a king studio with a full fridge and small dishwasher. There was a nice sitting area in the room as well. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've had ever- always eggs, some kind of meat, potatoes, fresh fruit and a make your own waffle station. When something was empty, a window from the kitchen opened up and it was replaced immediately. There are a ton of places to go/shopping/pubs/restaurants nearby, so I would totally go here again.

This is a newer or recently renovated Residence Inn in downtown Vancouver. We had a room with a balcony on a high floor, which was very nice. Once we were in our room, the front desk called to see if everything was all right. The suite had everything one would need if staying long term and needing to cook in one's room, which we did not.

The hotel also has a very nice fitness room and spa. The whirlpool was almost too hot to use, but the area was very nice, as was the indoor pool. It was never crowded when we were there.

Breakfast is another story. It seems that the area for breakfast was too small for the number of guests in the hotel. There were a huge number of guests present, with about 15 people trying to make waffles at any one point. By the time the line was shorter, the batter was empty and it was after 9:00 (the end of breakfast time), so the attendants were not going to refill the dispenser. Finally, the milk I had was spoiled. The attendants apologized, however, this left a sour taste in my mouth, literally!

Aside from breakfast, the hotel is very nice. It is in a good location, and the employees are very nice.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your stay - I am so glad you enjoyed your suite and our facilities.

I'm very sorry to hear about your breakfast experience. Residence Inn's breakfast hours are 6:30am to 9am on weekdays and 7am to 9:30am on weekends. I will definitely review your comments about the batter and milk with the team. We have just implemented new insulated cannisters for the milk and cream to improve convenience and quality.
