YWCA Hotel Vancouver
Ranked #14 of 92 Hotels in Vancouver

The YWCA hotel is located in downtown Vancouver which makes it a great location to discover town. Especially if you do not have a car to park - parking is available but you pay for it. Public transport is close by.
We had a room with two double beds and private bath which was fine for two adults and one kid. Clean, quiet - except the air conditioning which you need as you can only open windows a tiny little bit up.
Price was ok if you compare it to the local alternatives.
We didn't use the kitchens available every second or third floor.
Nowadays I would expect Wifi to be free - but here you have to pay for it.

First lets start with all the positives! The location of this hotel is great, a short walk to shopping (Pacific Centre), great food on Robson Street and the Chinatown train station. My room was clean and a great size for one person with a shared bathroom. Now the negative, the shared bathroom... you can hear everything from the bathroom, very annoying when the person next to you decides to have a shower at 12am despite the no showering after 11pm notice! Other than that the hotel was quite and the front desk were very helpful. Overall a lovely stay at the YWCA Hotel.

We stayed here overnight after a cruise to Alaska. Had a fine room with private bath on the 12th floor. A bit warm upon arrival but he air worked great! Within walking distance of many places to eat and a 7-11 to pick up breakfast food for the morning. Nice sized 'fridge in the room. Nothing fancy but just what we needed

The YWCA hotel in Beatty St was just what we wanted after a long flight from New Zealand.. Close to town, quiet, and comfortable. As a family we had 2 rooms and shared a bathroom - great! The rooms were clean and simply set up. Not a lot of space, but each floor of the hotel has a kitchen and a tv room which made for a in-house breakfasts and relaxing evenings after ploding the streets.. Robson St with its numerous cafes and restaurants was just around the corner, and the pickup point for various tour buses including the hop-on-hop-off buses was a 5 min walk away.

Room Tip: We had a corner rooms on the 12 floor.Good views and sunny.

Walk to Chinatown train station or right into the heart of Chinatown and do see the Japanese garden while there- there is a pay side and free side.
Walk to the Art Gallery or nearby Pacific Centre mall with the Bay and Sears - lots of eating places a block over on Robson. You can cook at the Y- there's a fridge in your room and shared kitchen on every other floor with TV lounges and computers in the lobby. You have a TV, desk beds lamps all you'd expect in a basic hotel right there at Y pricing. Good value compared to pricey hotels. Do ask for over 60 or student discounts. Internet available and parking for an in line fee. Your room includes use of the Y gym facilities a block away.

Room Tip: above 6th floor- away from satelite dishes and ventilation noise of next door building- on side faci...

The hotel is a short walk from all the main sights downtown, just across from the stadium etc.
The room was small with rather old fittings etc...but fun with 2 large windows...bathroom was shared with the room next door which given the low soundproofing was a bit odd.
The price was cheap but appropriate for the standard...basically a motel or hostel.

Excellent budget hotel poss. in Vancouver I recommend it:
The sky train is just down the street and the location is pretty good ....to a lot of places
Next time I will go to hotels in more calm communities, nearer f ex the Stanley Park. But its safe area! alas...mind matches at the arena - whether they win or loose there are active people in the streets ;))
There is a nice and cosy place to eat...fish & chips... just outside and right..The Atlantic Trap & Gill. And a lovely coffee shop is located in the lobby for homely breakfast in the room.
Its close to Chinatown & Gastown but be descreet as to use camera during the day - it is full of nuts, vagrants, drug addicts, and homelesses But you can also meet a lot of interesting not tourist cleaned people it is fun to talk with, and the Chinese Garden is gorgious
Jolly OK place!!

Room Tip: a little up in the air -view towards the arena
