Used this hotel to start and finish our first holiday in Canada which proved to be an excellent decision. Great location in Vancouver as it is opposite Canada Place and by the harbour - free bus tours like Grouse Mountain and Capilano Bridge start from here as does many of the other city or area tours. Easy walking to many fine restaurants along the harbour front or downtown area plus Waterfront Railway Station is across the road to enable you to travel further afield to the suburbs, Richmond etc. Only downside is that it gets very busy when the cruise ships arrive to disembark and take on new shipmates plus it blocks your harbour and mountain view at breakfast time at the Harbour Cafe!

We had deluxe rooms on 14th floor, spacious and had comfy beds, with great views of the harbour and mountains - obviously caters mainly for conferences and business because there is limited storage space for clothes. Good gym and pool area on 3rd floor which provides view of the harbour. All the staff we encountered could not do enough for you so made our stay really enjoyable.

Room Tip: Book the Deluxe Harbour View Room

Was placed in a 6th floor recently revevated room with a city view!  Very comfortably sized room and furniture!  Nice bathroom and closet as well.  The hotel is very close to the water and easy walking distance to the harbor walk, park and restaurants.  I would recommend to anyone.  Seemed easy access for local businesses and cruise ships.

My only complaint is the products in the bathroom. I am not a fan of roses scented products and  It seemed  pretty awful for male travelers to be smelling like roses!  I'm assuming they must have something to swap out or just bring your own shampoo, lotion and soap!

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review The Fairmont Waterfront on TripAdvisor. I was so glad to read your compliments about our newly renovated rooms. We are so proud of the new product and are thrilled to hear all of the positive feedback guests are providing. Thank you for also commenting on our central location which is in close proximity to the harbor and cruise ship port. It certainly does make for an easy pre or post-cruise stay with a short wander across the street to hop on board! I appreciate your feedback regarding our toiletries; If you are a Fairmont President’s Club member you can update your profile with comments regarding the La Labo Rose 13 products and we can work on creating a solution that you prefer for your future stays with us. This was my first visit to both Canada and a Fairmont property. I could not be any more pleased with the experience. We had originally booked a standard room, but after reading other reviews on here, we decided to upgrade when we got to the hotel. Alexis at the front desk was able to get us in to a Gold Level room. The upgrade was just what we needed. The room was gorgeous. The beds super comfy. In the Gold Lounge we were met with a smile from Victoria and Inna. The breakfast was very good, and the canapés in the evening were great. We had Flank Steak with mushrooms and blue cheese, Braised Pork Belly with a sweet Root Puree, Fresh Tuna Tacos, and so much more. A very special thanks to Inna, who offered my 7 year old milk and cookies before bed each night.

The concierge services were great as well. We were able to purchase our tickets to The Capilano Suspension Bridge right there, get directions to anywhere, and even got our water park passes for our return to the states. Check out was a piece of cake.

Sure you pay a little more for this awesome service, but well worth it. Thank you Fairmont for a wonderful first time in Canada!

We recently stated two nights at the Fairmont Waterfront. The property is nice and our room was newly renovated. However, there were a few minor service hiccups in the normally high caliber Fairmont service. We arrived early and were advised by the front desk that they would call our cell when the room was ready. No call. A couple days prior to arrival we asked the concierge for assistance with a dim sum reservation, which they said they would make and confirm. We had no confirmation on arrival. When I called the concierge from the room, they verbal confirmed, but, alas, no reservation had been made when we arrived at the packed (and excellent) Kirin Restaurant. Finally--and this isn't the Fairmont's fault--the hotel is overrun with cruise passengers. We were annoyingly awoken in the morning with wake up knocks on neighboring rooms and the rush to the elevators as groups departed. These are minor quibbles about a very nice hotel. However, there are a lot of great hotels in Vancouver.

We stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront on August 4th, the night before our cruise. We arrived around 1pm and our rooms were not ready. The staff was very helpful and recommended places to catch a bite to eat while we waited. We walked the seawall down to the Olympic Cauldron, ate at a nearby place and walked back. Our rooms were available and we were checked in and off to the pool. We were complimentary upgraded to a waterfront view. It was awesome watching the ships leave and a new one come in the next morning. My kids loved the pool and the shops underneath the hotel. The sky train (subway) station was right outside the front door. We loved the robes, the side of the room and the Keurig coffee maker. This hotel would normally be out of our price range but it was included while booking our cruise, transfers and hotel through Disney. Only one issue with the room was that the A/C didn't seem to work well. It wasn't horrible, but my husband likes to sleep in a COLD room. It was only for one night so we didn't call to get it fixed. I would definitely stay there again when cruising to Alaska, it was easy peasy getting to the ship. Just walk across the street and you are there!

Room Tip: Join the President's Club before you arrive for free internet and the shorter line to check in!

Nicole was very nice in check in. “rented” bikes and toured Stanley Park and waterfront from Canada Place. The concierge, Lucas, was very helpful with locating a correct cell phone charger for us. Check out and luggage service to the cruise ship was fast and efficient. Tyler, bell hop was super nice. He comes in and checks your boarding pass and passports, helps with tags, and takes the luggage in a truck through customs for you. He said they would arrive on board about 3pm, it was 4-ish. When we checked out the bill amount was different than my reservation. When I asked at the front desk what the difference was she said it was an additional tax of $5/day. They also round up. They don’t give you back or except 1 cent coins. So if the bill was .99 and you gave them a dollar bill, you would not get back the penny. I guess with the additional tax we are paying for their national health care system.

We stayed here for a convention, and figured the expense was worth it to be right across the street, in retrospect though, I would have gone elsewhere. We specifically requested a wheelchair accessible room in our reservation, but they missed it and did not have one ready when we checked in. The first room they gave us had a very narrow hallway with the door to the bathroom off it. There was no way the wheelchair could make it into the bathroom. They then showed us to a second room, which had a slightly wider entry, but only one bed for the 3 of us. We accepted it, and the staff gave us complimentary breakfast for the length of our stay as an apology for not having it ready. Then the maintenance man had to make 3 trips to bring up the shower chair, suction cup grab bar (which fell off when my mother tried to use it to stand up in the shower), and roll away bed. We had also requested a raised toilet seat, which never came, and a refrigerator which we finally got the next day, after I asked again at the desk. The concierge tried to be helpful, but could not find any wheelchair accessible tours, and suggested we could either take the city bus or a taxi. The best thing about the hotel was that the taxis all parked right across the street by the cruise ship dock, so there was never a wait to get a wheelchair accessible taxi. We were not impressed and did not feel it was worth the high price. The only other things we liked were the ice water available in the lobby, and the rooftop garden.
