My boyfriend and I stayed at The Waterfront Fairmont November 2011 and loved everything about the property! We took the upgrade to the Gold Floor and we were happy with the extra's it came with. We recieved very good service at the private check-in and appreciated the tour of the facilities as it was our first time at the hotel. The private appies and drinks were nice, and a high light was the smaller venue private buffet breakfast. Rooms were great- a lot of thoughtful extra's and a lot of space also the room comes with a housecoat and slippers! I love the location, so close to my favorite sps and within walking distance to good food and great shopping!I didn't have any meals in the retaurant however one morning during our stay the Gold Floor breakfast buffet was full and so were able to take our breakfast there and it was great! A beautiful restaurant, looked really clean and food and service were both good! Lucky us! I like to stay in different 4-5 stars when I travel to Vancouver but I will come back to this one forsure! Not only for the special treatment but for the rooftop garden full of items that will be used in the meals they prepare and bees that make honey used for the desserts and truffels they make on site. How cool is that??

had some family business to attend to during September 2012 and stayed there for 2 nights. Booked online and upon check in, was upgraded to the Fairmont Gold Floor. As it was an adhoc trip, and I was coming in from Hong Kong, so when I was back in the hotel, I needed all the rest I could get, and the hotel did just that.
the room was very clean, sound insulation was good, the bed gave me very good rests.
breakfast was good, and the bar on the ground floor has a nice atmosphere.
all the staff I met, from check in till check out, were young and very pleasant, professional throughout.
I enjoyed very much my stay there and definitely will return to this hotel again.

We are currently enjoying our second stay at the Waterfront. We have enjoyed our stays at Fairmont properties from Toronto to Vancouver including wonderful "staycations" at home in Calgary, Banff and Lake Louise.. We now always reserve on the Gold Floor. The lounge atmosphere and overall service are quite decadent and affordable given the included items. We have met and had very nice conversations with fellow travellers. The extra service and touches provided by Victoria and her team in Vancouver and Jocelyn in Calgary leave wonderful memories and we look forward to our next stay wherever that might be.

Location - perfect - on the waterfront, beautiful scenery, very clost to the convention center/canada place/air/skytrain etc.
Food - Heron's is lovely (but overpriced), I upgraded to "gold" and had a better-than-adequate breakfast, and the canapes pre-dinner in the evening were well thought out and prepared. Alcohol was overpriced but you get what you pay for.
Room - perfect, really. Comfortable bed, large tv, the ammenities (umbrella, binoculars, internet all included - join the president's club for free for the internet), and i loved the shampoo - nicer than any store-brand, and comfortable lighting
Work-out center - although busy - i never had trouble getting a machine, it had everything you needed, tv sets on the equipment, ok hot tub, did not check out the pool - too rainy - but it looked nice.
Staff - the place was well-staffed, no lines, the concierge was brilliant and useful. I think someone brought a "guest" into the hotel who had caused some fuss, but security removed the problem within a minute of my call.
There were phones everywhere, staff was by my room in the evening with extra water bottles (gratis) and ice, i didn't wait any time to be connected with anyone, same day massage, overall i was quite happy.

I stayed at this hotel since we were doing some work on our house. We checked into a room that belonged to someone else. The staff were very apologetic about error and quickly ensured we had another room. The only downside was that it had two beds instead of a King.
We were on the gold floor and it included a breakfast which was okay. We didn't really feel that the selection was comparable to some of the other hotels we have stayed in with similar set-ups.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was average. The waitress was very nice and was a pleasure to speak with.
Overall, we would go back if we didn't have any other options but based on how much we paid, I don't really feel that it is worth it. I would rather stay at the new Fairmont up the street.
