We upgraded to the gold floor which was awesome as it had some good perks. Private check-in, free parking, appies and breakfast all included. The only downside was the lounge was too small for the number of guests that could use it. We found it packed on Sunday morning and the staff couldn't keep up with the demand although they were working very hard (not their fault). Room was lovely and extremely clean. Beautiful location and central to everything.

Room Tip: Try to get a water view...can't beat the Vancouver waterfront.

Dear Guest,

I am disappointed to read your review and learn of the issues experienced while staying with us on our Gold Floor. This is certainly not the service or lastly impression we wish to provide our guests. I will review your comments with our team here as your feedback certainly identifies the need for improvement.

We are committed to guest satisfaction, and to provide a more positive experience for future guests we will ensure our exclusive Gold Floor is appropriately staffed and not overly packed.
Given the circumstances, I am very pleased to hear that you found your guest room to be lovely and clean. As well, it is nice to see you truly appreciated our treasured hotel location.

Should your travels bring you back to Vancouver, it would be our pleasure to welcome you back to The Fairmont Waterfront. In the future, if ever there is anything else we can do to make your time with us more comfortable; please do not hesitate to contact me directly at ian.pullan@fairmont.com.

The Fairmont Watrfront is everything you would expect in a Fairmont hotel, professional, friendly staff, great service, comfortable rooms etc. It's location directly across from the cruise ship terminal and less than a 5 minute walk from the convention center makes it an excellent place to stay for business or if going on a cruise. I caught the skytrain from the airport and was pleased to find that the hotel was only a 4 - 5 minute walk from the station, it's a very easy and quick way to get downtown.

Room Tip: I had a room on the thrid floor that opened onto a rooftop garden

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to comment and rate your recent experience with us on TripAdvisor.

It is wonderful to read your comments and learn that your stay in Vancouver was memorable because of the level of service you received from our friendly staff. As well, I am pleased to hear that you appreciated our location, right in the heart of Vancouver and directly across the street from the Vancouver Convention Center. The sky train station is actually connected to our hotel via underground walkways, or simply a couple minutes walk outside. Great if it rains!

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Fairmont Waterfront once again in the near future. If ever I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at ian.pullan@fairmont.com or 604-691-1892.

We spent a few days in Vancouver in July prior to taking an Alaska cruise and how great it was to stay in the Fairmont Waterfront.

It's a first class hotel with excellent amenities and accommodation. Very central and with easy access to all attractions and transportation and the cruise ship terminal.

It was our first time in Vancouver and what a beautiful and vibrant city it is. Gas Town is the area to go to for either lunch or dinner and the side walk patios are perfect, even if the evening is cool, as there are huge heaters on all the patios.

We'll definitely be returning to Vancouver soon and will stay at the Fairmont Waterfront when we do. Highly recommend this hotel and location.

The Fairmont Waterfront is an outstanding hotel in the very competitive Vancouver market. My wife and I have stayed at the Waterfront several times in the past few years. For us, it is a "destination hotel."

The rooms are comfortable, warm and stylish. They are a marked contrast to the cold, pseudo-zen atmosphere that characterizes some of the newer hotels in Vancouver. The rooms all have great views, but the prime locations are the rooms have views of the Burrard inlet and the mountains to the north. Another great feature of the hotel is its proximity to Canada Place and Coal Harbour. There is also wonderful shopping and terrific art galleries in the area. The stations for the Sky Link and Canada Lines, as well as the Sea Bus, are right across the street.

We also enjoyed Heron's restaurant and lounge. The food is outstanding regional cuisine. In my opinion, it is comparable to the five star restaurants in Vancouver. The lounge is a great place to watch people while sipping on a libation.

The best thing about the hotel is the staff. We found all of the staff, from the doormen to the Concierge to the front desk to the housekeeping staff, to be professional and courteous.

The Waterfront is a great place to stay if you are in Vancouver for business or pleasure. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have views of the mountains and water. The city views on other sides of the...

I've stayed at several Fairmonts in Vancouver, Jasper, Whistler, Victoria, and Seattle. I've always been impressed with the level of service that the chain offers, the Waterfront is no different.
Fantastic views of the North Shore mountains and Vancouver harbour, and the convention centre area. The food at Herons was quite good, bell service was prompt, and even beat us to our room with our luggage. Beds are super comfortable, the Miller Harris toiletries smell great, and the room is well appointed. The hotel also has a resident Golden Lab you can reserve if you want to take the dog for a walk around town for an hour!
I love the location at the cruise ship terminal, and its a short walk to the art gallery and some of the best food carts around town. Perfect hotel for a cruise out of Vancouver, or if you want a nice weekend away I can heartily recommend the Fairmont Waterfront.

Room Tip: higher floor offers greater rewards, corners are the best if you can get them. Spring for a deluxe...

Stayed here for a week with a friend who had never been to Canada. Vancouver is my favourite city in the world and I was looking forward to showing it off! I had emailed the conciege in advance for a few suggestions and both Rodolfo and Katie were wonderful! While we were there we stopped at the concierge desk everyday and dealt with Selima who was exceptional, she helped us book a trip to Whistler and had new suggestions for us everyday. All the staff we dealt with were wonderful, the doormen were friendly and remembered us each evening when we came back to the hotel and asked about our day. The reception team were all extreamly helpful, especially when we arrived with less than 15 minutes to get to Rogers Arena for a hockey game - they took our bags and said the keys would be waiting for us when we got back, it was perfect! The room was large, with two Queen beds and room for an extra bed when another friend visited for two nights. The beds were so comfortable I wish I could have stayed longer!! All in all it was the perfect hotel to spend a week at in my favourite city, and I hope to be back very soon!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to comment and rate your recent experience with us on TripAdvisor.

I am pleased to read your review and learn that overall you had an enjoyable time with us. However, it is most rewarding to learn that the members of our Concierge and Bell teams were able to exceed your guest needs by helping you book a trip to Whistler, organize daily activities, and assist with luggage in order for you to make it to your hockey game on time. Stayed here in October for a conference. We had lived in Vancouver for 10 years and it was nice to return. 5 star service - from the front desk to the concierge. We arrived early but they informed us that they would give us a call when our room was ready. We left our bags at the concierge and went for some lunch. After lunch, our room was ready and they would deliver our bags to our room. We were a little concerned because sometimes that could take hours, from experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised that within 5 minutes of us getting into our room, we had our bags dropped off by a friendly gentleman. We were also able to leave our bags at the concierge on our checkout day as our flight was later in the evening.

No bed bugs. This is super important to me since experiencing them in a Traveller's Inn in Victoria.

The bedding was extra soft and we had a nice view on the 11th floor. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. Good quality linens, toiletries and robes.

The location was perfect. Within walking distance to all the tasty foods I missed while away. 4 minutes to a Japadog. Steps from the Skytrain.

No free internet, but that's the norm with downtown hotels. There was a Starbucks down the street if you really need internet. The Convention Centre across the hotel has a Check In kiosk if you want to check into your flight before you fly.

As in all hotels, you could hear people in the hallway or doors slamming. It wasn't very bad though - much better than other hotels. I think it really depends on the guests and how respectful they are.
