Reasonable rates, nicely appointed and conveniently located. The staff are super friendly and appreciate your business. The rooms are clean and modern with the exception of the TV service which the hotel says will be upgraded soon. In spite of being located on a busy street, the hotel is surprisingly quiet. The free breakfast is better than average with a hot food option as well. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed for 4 nights in May and had a room on the 2nd floor opposite the ballroom. Our room was spacious, very very clean and really peaceful, we didn't hear any noise from the neighbours or in the corridor. The included in room wifi was fast and reliable.

The only minor negatives about the room were the carpet is getting a bit worn around the edges, there is no fridge and housekeeping didn't replenish the complimentary toiletries when the room was serviced. But those things didn't have a dramatic impact on our stay.

There is plenty of free underground parking which is very secure. When you arrive park in check in parking until you get your room key, then drive down to the car park and you will need to swipe your room key to open the gates. You also need to use your room key to activate the lift to the guest room floors, so everywhere within the hotel is very secure.

We used the fitness room which was available until 11pm, a couple of good treadmills, bike and weights.

The included breakfast was very good, it's available until 09:30 and they have a really good choice, cereal, yoghurt, toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries etc - the scrambled eggs and bacon alternated with sausage patties and omelettes. There are a few tables but it can get crowded, they do keep it well stocked though.

We used the complimentary shuttle to Canada Place, you just check the availability with reception and book it on the day for the time that suits you. They don't pick you up to return to the hotel though, you can get the bus number 16 which stops opposite the hotel and costs $2.75. You can catch this bus at the stop at Hastings and Granville in downtown Vancouver.

As other reviewers have said (and the hotel staff confirmed) you really don't want to walk to/from downtown to this hotel especially along East Hastings Street. You would walk right through one of the roughest parts of Vancouver. On the bus you drive through this area and it has a lot of homeless people, drunks, possibly drug users - it does look rough and very intimidating. The bus journey is absolutely fine though, we got a late bus back to the hotel and it was all OK.

The area surrounding the hotel is absolutely fine, we had no issues whatsoever so don't let the above put you off.

The staff are friendly, helpful, efficient and polite. I would definitely stay here again, would recommend it and it was good value for the money.

The staff was friendly. But the condition of the hotel needs to be kept up better. The carpet in the halls looked dirty. The carpet in our room was stained and ripped in several spots. The tiles in the bathroom didn't match. The base of the lamps were filthy. The ceiling had holes and water spots. We had a skylight in our room that was so dirty someone had drawn on it. Made me wonder why some one was on the roof and that they could be looking in on us. We stayed at this hotel for two nights. We always try to stay at Holiday Inn's and this location did save us $100. We are just use to expecting more from Holiday Inn.

Great clean, friendly, modern, and convient location. We did a 'park and cruise' with an overnight stay, and it was cheaper than parking the car for a week at the cruise terminal. The hotel includes a free shuttle to the terminal, but not back to the hotel. A taxi was $15 dollars and change, plus a tip, back to the hotel. Still a heck of a lot cheaper than parking at the terminal. The distance is about 12 to 15 minuets in time. The car is kept in an multi-level underground garage, with with a automatic closing, locking steel gate, and felt like the safest place in Vancouver.

There is a beautiful park and fairgrounds directly across the street, and we had a beautiful walk through this park. Also within easy walking distance to several restaurants on Hastings street. And of course a nice free breakfast at the hotel. I would recommend this Holiday Inn Express to anybody, especially if your going on a cruise. It's cheaper than the terminal, even with a nights stay, and the car is as safe as possibly could be. RB

Stayed a few nights in this little gem. Check-in was greeted with great staff that did all they could to welcome you. Room and bed were great. Had a great breakfast in the morning. The only complaint I would have would be the noise if your room is on the street side. If staying, ask to be on the opposite side. Otherwise, we had a great stay and would stay again.

Room Tip: Do not stay on the side of the road.

This Holiday Inn Express location is very good - easy to take bus to travel to most downtown areas. The staff, especially at front desk, was extreme friendly and helpful when we asked the directions and guide for taking buses and some interesting points. This was our first time visiting Vancouver but only stayed one night. This hotel staff was so impressed us and we would like to stay there again. It was a wonderful experience.

I was traveling on business to this location and was pleasently surprised as I had not stayed in Holiday Inn in the past. I arrived after 11pm and the first front desk represenative Joshua was absolutely delightful for that time of evening, so much so that I struck up a conversation with him about his culinary career. The next day a Miss Sanja and Mr. David answered all of my inquiries and were an unexpected joy to work with. The facility itself was more than I could have imagined; esthetically pleasing. I peaked at the meeting space because I was right over their fitness center and I couldn't believe how spacious well situated it was considering. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel they have a relationship with which was convenient in my downtime. Honestly, I can't wait to go back to this hotel next year. Even though it'll be on business I now have something additionally to look forward to. Happy travels!
